Yes, it is normal for the water filter compartment door of the Whirlpool WRS588FIHZ side-by-side fridge to sit partially open. The door is designed to partially open when the filter is being replaced. To replace the water filter, follow these steps: 1. Locate the water filter in the top-right corner or the base grille of the refrigerator. 2. Lift open the filter cover door to release the filter. 3. When the door is completely open, pull the filter straight out. 4. Take the new filter out of its packaging and remove the cap. Make sure the O-rings are still in place. 5. With the arrow pointing up or to the left, align the new filter with the filter housing and slide it into place. The filter cover door will automatically begin to close as the new filter is inserted. 6. Close the filter cover door completely to snap the filter into place. You may need to press hard. 7. After changing the filter, reset the filter status light. 8. Flush the water system.

Why is there warm water coming out of my water dispenser? Shouldn't it be chilled?

The Whirlpool WRS588FIHZ refrigerator has a water dispenser that dispenses both cold and room temperature water. If warm water is being dispensed instead of cold water, there are a few possible reasons: 1. Low Water Pressure: Check if the flow of water from the dispenser is decreased. This could be caused by low water pressure. To test the water pressure, remove the water filter and dispense 1 cup (237 mL) of water. If it takes longer than 8 seconds to dispense 1 cup of water, the water pressure to the refrigerator is lower than recommended. 2. Water Supply Requirements: Ensure that the refrigerator is connected to a cold water supply with a water pressure between 30 psi and 120 psi (207 kPa and 827 kPa). If the water pressure is too low, it may result in warm water being dispensed. 3. Reverse Osmosis Water Supply: If a reverse osmosis water filtration system is connected to the refrigerator's water supply, ensure that the water pressure meets the minimum requirement of 40 psi to 60 psi (276 kPa to 414 kPa). If the water pressure is lower, check if the sediment filter in the reverse osmosis system is blocked and allow the storage tank to refill after heavy usage.

ice forms under ice maker storage bin most likely from an opening where the clear plastic connects to the white plastic. When it builds up, you can't get the bin to snap into place.

The amount of water dispensed is not equal to the amount the fridge says is being dispensed. i.e. 4 oz. is actually dispensed when it said 6 oz. was intended. Can it be calibrated?
