I did according to the instructions to play a vinyl record. I screwed the silver screw all the way to the bottom as written in the instruction, and switchd the player to PHONO. But somehow the turntable would not start turning. In addition, I found that the cue lever has no noticeable effect in lowering or raising the tone arm. Have I just bought a malfunctioning machine? Please tell me how I should play vinyl records on the LP R500.

I have a TEAC LP-R500 and need to replace the turntable belt. Where can I get them?
I have not used the disc player for about 18 months and when I now try the turntable will not turn. I am wondering if the belt is dislodged or broken, but I can't see how to raise or remove the turntable in order to view underneath.
