1. Familiarisation avec l’appareil
1.1 Qu’est-ce que le mini-coussin?
Migraines, crampes, douleurs aiguës, douleurs dues aux bles-
sures, douleurs chroniques: toutes ces douleurs sont un aver-
tissement naturel et chacun souhaite un soulagement immé-
diat. Le mini-coussin innovant est un appareil TENS autocollant
pour atténuer la douleur. Grâce à la technologie TENS intégrée,
le mini-coussin permet de traiter les douleurs de manière très
précise. Le mini-coussin en gomme silicone de qualité médicale
au design élégant est extrêmement fin et flexible et s’adapte
parfaitement à la zone du corps à traiter. Le circuit intégré haute
technologie assure des traitements à haute efficacité énergé-
tique de 20 minutes chacun (jusqu’à 20 traitements par pile).
Le mini-coussin, une méthode anti-douleur sûre et efficace,
propose à l’utilisateur une toute nouvelle expérience dans le
traitement de la douleur.
1.2 Qu’est-ce que TENS et à quoi sert-il?
Par
TENS, la stimulation nerveuse électrique transcuta-
née
, on entend l’excitation électrique des nerfs par la peau.
TENS a été testé cliniquement et autorisé en tant que méthode
efficace, non médicamenteuse et exempte d’effets secondaires
lors d’une utilisation correcte pour le traitement de douleurs de
certaines origines, tout comme pour le traitement autonome
simple. L’effet d’atténuation ou de répression de la douleur est
atteint entre autres en réprimant la transmission de la douleur
dans les fibres nerveuses (principalement à travers des impul-
sions haute fréquence) et en augmentant la sécrétion d’endor-
phines par le corps, qui réduisent la sensation de douleur grâce
à leur effet sur le système nerveux central. Cette méthode est
étayée scientifiquement et autorisée médicalement.
Chaque tableau clinique pour lequel l’utilisation de TENS est
judicieuse doit être déterminé par votre médecin traitant. Ce-
lui-ci vous donnera également des indications sur les avan-
tages d’un traitement autonome TENS.
TENS est testé cliniquement et autorisé pour les applications
suivantes:
•
Douleurs dorsales, en particuliers des douleurs rénales et
des vertèbres cervicales
•
Douleurs articulaires (par ex. genou, hanche, épaule)
•
Névralgies
•
Douleurs menstruelles chez les femmes
•
Douleurs après des blessures de l’appareil locomoteur
•
Douleurs dues aux troubles de la circulation sanguine
•
Douleurs chroniques ayant diverses causes
Les appareils TENS fonctionnent en transmettant du courant
à travers la peau. Le film-gel sert de médium de transmission
qui subit une usure naturelle. Si un contact suffisant n’est plus
possible à travers le film-gel, le mini-coussin ne colle plus en-
tièrement à la peau et doit être remplacé. Dans le cas contraire,
l’augmentation partielle de la densité du courant peut provo-
quer des irritations cutanées.

2. Consignes importantes
L’utilisation de l’appareil ne remplace pas une consul-
tation et un traitement médicaux. C’est pourquoi en cas
de tout type de douleur ou de maladie, veuillez toujours
consulter d’abord votre médecin!
AVERTISSEMENT!
Pour éviter d’endommager la santé, l’utilisation du mi-
ni-coussin est fortement déconseillée dans les cas suivants:
•
Appareils électriques implantés (par ex. stimula-
teurs cardiaques).
•
Présence d’implants métalliques.
•
Porteurs de pompe à insuline.
•
En cas de forte fièvre (par ex. > 39 °C).
•
En cas de troubles du rythme cardiaque connus ou aigus et
d’autres troubles de la conduction et de l’excitation cardiaques.
•
En cas de crises (par ex. épilepsie).
•
Pendant une grossesse.
•
En cas de cancer.
•
Après des opérations, lorsque de fortes contractions mus-
culaires peuvent perturber le processus de guérison.
•
Ne pas utiliser à proximité du cœur. Les élec-
trodes de stimulation ne doivent être utilisées
à aucun endroit du torse (délimité par les côtes
et le sternum), en particulier les deux grands
muscles pectoraux. Ceci peut augmenter le risque de fibrilla
-
tion ventriculaire et provoquer un arrêt cardiaque.
•
Sur le crâne, dans la zone de la bouche, de la gorge ou
du larynx.
•
Dans la zone du cou / de la carotide / sur la nuque.
•
Dans la zone des parties génitales.
•
Sur une peau atteinte d’une maladie chronique ou aiguë
(blessée ou enflammée) (par ex. en cas d’inflammations dou-
loureuses et indolores, rougeurs, éruptions cutanées (par ex.
allergies), brûlures, contusions, gonflements ou blessures
ouvertes ou en cours de guérison, des cicatrices d’opération
impliquées dans la guérison).
•
Dans des environnements à humidité élevée, par ex. dans la
salle de bain ou en prenant un bain ou une douche.
•
Ne pas utiliser après avoir consommé de l’alcool.
•
En cas de connexion simultanée à un appareil chirurgical
haute fréquence.
Avant d’utiliser l’appareil, consultez votre médecin trai-
tant en cas de:
•
Maladies aiguës, en particulier en cas de soupçon ou de
présence d’hypertension, de troubles de la coagulation san-
guine, de prédisposition aux maladies thromboemboliques
ainsi qu’en cas de néoplasmes malins.
•
Toutes les maladies de la peau ou plaies ouvertes.
•
Douleurs chroniques non expliquées, indépendamment de
la zone du corps.
•
Diabète.
•
Tous les troubles de la sensibilité avec diminution de la sen-
sation de douleur (par ex. troubles du métabolisme).
•
Traitements médicaux menés en parallèle.
•
Troubles survenus suite au traitement par stimulation.
•
Irritations cutanées persistantes dues à une stimulation pro-
longée au même emplacement des électrodes.
AVERTISSEMENT!
•
Si du liquide de la cellule de pile entre en contact avec la peau
ou les yeux, rincez la zone touchée avec de l’eau et consul-
tez un médecin.
•
Risque d’ingestion ! Les enfants en bas âge pourraient
avaler des piles et s’étouffer. Veuillez donc conserver les piles
hors de portée des enfants en bas âge !
•
Respectez les signes de polarité plus (+) et moins (-).
•
Si la pile a coulé, enfilez des gants de protection et nettoyez le
compartiment à piles avec un chiffon sec.
•
Protégez les piles d’une chaleur excessive.
•
Risque d’explosion ! Ne jetez pas les piles dans le feu.
•
Les piles ne doivent être ni rechargées, ni court-circuitées.
•
En cas de non utilisation prolongée de l’appareil, sortez les piles
du compartiment à piles.
•
Utilisez uniquement des piles identiques ou équivalentes.
•
Remplacez toujours l’ensemble des piles simultanément.
•
N’utilisez pas d’accumulateur !
•
Ne démontez, n’ouvrez ou ne cassez pas les piles.
•
Sortez les piles de l’appareil quand elles sont vides ou si vous
n’utilisez plus l’appareil pendant un moment. Vous évitez ainsi
les dommages dus à des fuites.
•
Si nécessaire, nettoyez les contacts des piles et de l’appareil
avant leur insertion.
MESURES DE PRÉCAUTION:
•
Gardez l’appareil éloigné des sources de chaleur et ne l’uti-
lisez pas à proximité (~1m) d’appareils à ondes courtes ou
micro-ondes (par ex. téléphones portables), car ceci pourrait
provoquer des pics de courant désagréables.
•
N’exposez pas l’appareil à la lumière directe du soleil ou à
des températures élevées.
•
Protégez l’appareil de la poussière, la saleté et l’humidité.
Ne jamais plonger l’appareil dans l’eau ou d’autres liquides.
•
L’appareil est approprié pour une utilisation autonome.
•
Si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement ou si des in-
dispositions ou des douleurs apparaissent, interrompez im-
médiatement l’utilisation.
•
Arrêtez le mini-coussin avant de le poser ou de le retirer.
•
Ne modifiez en aucun cas le mini-coussin (par ex. en le cou-
pant). Ceci provoquerait une augmentation de la densité du
courant et peut être dangereux.
•
Ne pas utiliser pendant le sommeil, en conduisant un véhi-
cule ou en opérant des machines.

1.1 Was ist das Mini-Pad?

sche Schmerzen: All diese Schmerzen sind ein natürliches Warnsig-
nal und jeder wünscht sich eine sofortige Linderung. Das innovative
Mini-Pad ist ein selbsthaftendes TENS-Gerät zur Schmerzlinderung.
Dank der eingesetzten TENS-Technologie können mit dem Mini-Pad
Schmerzen punktgenau behandelt werden. Das aus Silikongummi in
Medizinqualität bestehende Mini-Pad in elegantem Design ist extrem
dünn und flexibel und passt sich perfekt an die zu behandelnde Körper-
stelle an. Der Hightech-Schaltkreis sorgt für energieeffiziente Behand-
lungen von jeweils 20 Minuten (pro Batterie bis zu 20 Behandlungen).

1.2 Was ist und kann TENS?
Unter
TENS, der transkutanen elektrischen Nervenstimulati-
on
, versteht man die über die Haut wirkende elektrische Anregung
von Nerven. TENS ist als klinisch erwiesene, wirksame, nicht-medi-
kamentöse, bei richtiger Anwendung nebenwirkungsfreie Methode
zur Behandlung von Schmerzen bestimmter Ursachen zugelassen –
dabei auch zur einfachen Selbstbehandlung. Der schmerzlindernde
bzw. -unterdrückende Effekt wird unter anderem erreicht durch die
Unterdrückung der Weiterleitung des Schmerzes in Nervenfasern
(hierbei vor allem durch hochfrequente Impulse) und Steigerung der
Ausscheidung körpereigener Endorphine, die das Schmerzempfinden
durch ihre Wirkung im Zentralen Nervensystem vermindern. Die Me-
thode ist wissenschaftlich untermauert und medizinisch zugelassen.
Jedes Krankheitsbild, das eine TENS Anwendung sinnvoll macht,
muss von Ihrem behandelnden Arzt abgeklärt werden. Dieser wird
Ihnen auch Hinweise zum jeweiligen Nutzen einer TENS-Selbstbe-
handlung geben.
TENS ist bei folgenden Anwendungen klinisch geprüft und zuge-
lassen:

Rückenschmerzen, insbesondere auch Lenden- und Halswirbel-
säulenbeschwerden
•
Gelenkschmerzen (z.B. Kniegelenk, Hüftgelenk, Schulter)
•
Neuralgien
•
Regelbeschwerden bei Frauen
•
Schmerzen nach Verletzungen am Bewegungsapparat
•
Schmerzen bei Durchblutungsstörungen
•
Chronischen Schmerzzuständen verschiedener Ursachen
TENS-Geräte funktionieren durch Einbringung von Strom über die Haut.
Der Gel-Film dient hierbei als Übertragungsmedium, welches einem
natürlichen Verschleiß unterliegt. Ist kein ausreichender Kontakt über
den Gel-Film mehr möglich, das Mini-Pad haftet nicht vollflächig auf
der Haut, muss dieser getauscht werden. Andernfalls kann die partiell
erhöhte Stromdichte zu Haut irritationen führen.

2. Wichtige Hinweise
Eine Anwendung des Gerätes ersetzt keine ärztliche Konsulta
-
tion und Behandlung. Befragen Sie bei jeder Art von Schmerz
oder Krankheit deshalb immer zunächst Ihren Arzt!
WARNUNG!
Um gesundheitlichen Schäden vorzubeugen, ist in folgenden
Fällen von der Anwendung des Mini-Pad dringend abzuraten:
•
Bei implantierten elektrischen Geräten (wie z.B.
Herzschritt machern).
•
Bei Vorhandensein von metallenen Implantaten.
•
Bei Insulinpumpenträgern.
•
Bei hohem Fieber (z.B. > 39 °C).
•
Bei bekannten oder akuten Herzrhythmusstörungen und anderen
Erregungsbildungs- und Leitungsstörungen am Herzen.
•
Bei Anfallsleiden (z.B. Epilepsie).
•
Bei einer bestehenden Schwangerschaft.
•
Bei vorliegenden Krebserkrankungen.
•
Nach Operationen, bei denen verstärkte Muskelkontraktionen den
Heilungsprozess stören könnten.
•
Eine Anwendung in der Nähe des Herzens muss un-
terbleiben. Stimulationselektroden dürfen an keiner
Stelle des vorderen Brustkorbs (durch Rippen und
Brustbein gekennzeichnet) angewandt werden, ins-
besondere nicht an beiden großen Brustmuskeln. Hier kann es
das Risiko von Herzkammerflimmern erhöhen und einen Herz-
stillstand herbeiführen.
•
Am knöchernen Schädel, im Bereich des Mundes, des Rachenrau-
mes oder des Kehlkopfes.
•
Im Bereich des Halses / Halsschlagader / über dem Nacken.
•
Im Bereich der Genitalien.
•
Auf akut oder chronisch erkrankter (verletzter oder entzündeter)
Haut, (z.B. bei schmerzhaften und schmerzlosen Entzündungen,
Rötungen, Hautausschlägen (z.B. Allergien), Verbrennungen, Prel-
lungen, Schwellungen und offenen sowie sich im Heilungspro-
zess befindliche Wunden, an Operationsnarben die in der Hei-
lung begriffen sind).
•
In Umgebungen mit hoher Feuchtigkeit wie z.B. im Badezimmer
oder beim Baden oder Duschen.
•
Nicht nach Alkoholkonsum verwenden.
•
Bei einem gleichzeitigen Anschluss an ein Hochfrequenz-Chirur-
giegerät.
Halten Sie vor einer Anwendung des Geräts Rücksprache mit
Ihrem behandelnden Arzt bei:
•
Akuten Erkrankungen, insbesondere bei Verdacht oder Vor liegen
von Bluthochdruckerkrankungen, Blutgerinnungsstörungen, Nei-
gung zu thrombo-embolischen Erkrankungen sowie bei bösarti-
gen Neubildungen.
•
Allen Hauterkrankungen oder offenen Wunden.
•
Nicht abgeklärten chronischen Schmerzzuständen, unabhängig
von der Körperregion.
•
Diabetes.
•
Allen Sensibilitätsstörungen mit reduziertem Schmerzempfinden
(wie z.B. Stoffwechselstörungen).
•
Gleichzeitig durchgeführten medizinischen Behandlungen.
•
Mit der Stimulationsbehandlung auftretenden Beschwerden.
•
Beständigen Hautreizungen aufgrund von langzeitiger Stimulation
an der gleichen Elektrodenstelle.
WARNUNG!
•
Wenn Flüssigkeit aus einer Batteriezelle mit Haut oder Augen in Kon-
takt kommt, die betroffene Stelle mit Wasser auswaschen und ärzt-
liche Hilfe aufsuchen.
•
Verschluckungsgefahr! Kleinkinder könnten Batterien verschlu-
cken und daran ersticken. Daher Batterien für Kleinkinder unerreich-
bar aufbewahren!
•
Auf Polaritätskennzeichen Plus (+) und Minus (-) achten.
•
Wenn eine Batterie ausgelaufen ist, Schutzhandschuhe anziehen und
das Batteriefach mit einem trockenen Tuch reinigen.
•
Schützen Sie Batterien vor übermäßiger Wärme.
•
Explosionsgefahr! Keine Batterien ins Feuer werfen.
•
Batterien dürfen nicht geladen oder kurzgeschlossen werden.
•
Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung des Geräts die Batterien aus dem Bat-
teriefach nehmen.
•
Verwenden Sie nur denselben oder einen gleichwertigen Batterietyp.
•
Immer alle Batterien gleichzeitig auswechseln.
•
Keine Akkus verwenden!
•
Keine Batterien zerlegen, öffnen oder zerkleinern.
•
Nehmen Sie die Batterie aus dem Artikel heraus, wenn diese erschöpft
ist oder Sie den Artikel länger nicht benutzen. So vermeiden Sie Schä-
den, die durch Auslaufen entstehen können.
•
Reinigen Sie die Batterie- und Gerätekontakte bei Bedarf vor dem
Einlegen. Überhitzungsgefahr!
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN:
•
Halten Sie das Gerät von Wärmequellen fern und verwenden Sie es
nicht in der Nähe (~1 m) von Kurz- oder Mikrowellengeräten (z.B.
Handys), da dies zu unangenehmen Stromspitzen führen kann.
•
Setzen Sie das Gerät nicht direkter Sonne oder hohen Tempe-
raturen aus.
•
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Staub, Schmutz und Feuchtigkeit.
Das Gerät niemals in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten tauchen.
•
Das Gerät ist zur Eigenanwendung geeignet.
•
Sollte das Gerät nicht korrekt funktionieren, sich Unwohlsein oder
Schmerzen einstellen, brechen Sie die Anwendung sofort ab.
•
Schalten Sie das Mini-Pad ab, bevor Sie es anbringen bzw. ent-
fernen.
•
Modifizieren Sie auf keinen Fall das Mini-Pad (z.B. durch Beschnitt).
Dies führt zu höherer Stromdichte und kann gefährlich sein.
•
Nicht im Schlaf, beim Führen eines Kraftfahrzeuges oder gleich-
zeitigem Bedienen von Maschinen anwenden.

1.1 Что такое миостимулятор?

1.2 Что такое TENS и в чём его преимущества?
Под
TENS
понимается метод электрической стимуляции
нервов, осуществляемой через кожу. TENS – клинически
проверенный, эффективный и безмедикаментозный ме-
тод, при правильном применении не имеющий побочных
действий. Он допустим для лечения болей определенно-
го рода, в том числе и для простого самолечения. Боле-

Каждую клиническую картину, при которой целесоо-
бразно применение метода TENS, необходимо обсудить
с лечащим врачом. Он даст рекомендации для исполь-
зования метода TENS при самолечении для каждого

Метод TENS допускается и прошел клинические испы-
тания для следующих применений:

при болях в спине, особенно при болях в пояснице и
в шейном отделе позвоночника;
•
при болях в суставах (например, коленный, тазобе-
дренный, плечевой суставы);
•
при невралгии;
•
при болезненных менструациях у женщин;
•
при болях в результате травм опорно-двигательно-
го аппарата;

при болях вследствие нарушений местного кровоо

бращения;
•
при хронических болезненных состояниях разно-
го рода.
Приборы TENS работают путем передачи тока через
кожу. Гелевая пленка служит в данном случае переда-
ющей средой, которая подлежит естественному износу.
Если достаточный контакт с помощью гелевой пленки
больше невозможен, и миостимулятор крепится на коже
не полностью, то пленку необходимо заменить. В про-
тивном случае повышенная плотность тока может при-
вести к раздражениям на коже.

2. Важные указания
Использование прибора не является заменой для

ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ!
Во избежание причинения вреда здоровью катего-
рически не рекомендуется использовать миости-
мулятор в следующих случаях:
•
при наличии имплантированных электриче-
ских приборов (как, например, кардиости-
муляторов);
•
при наличии металлических имплантатов;
•
при ношении инсулиновой помпы;
•
при высокой температуре (например, > 39 °C);
•
при известных или острых нарушениях сердечного
ритма или других нарушениях ритма и проводимо-
сти сердца;
•
при болезнях, протекающих с приступами (напри-
мер, эпилепсии);
•
при беременности;
•
при раковых заболеваниях;
•
после операций, при которых усиленное мышечное со-
кращение может повредить процессу лечения;
•
использование вблизи сердца
запрещено. Стимулирующие электроды
запрещается использовать на передней
стороне грудной клетки (обозначенной
ребрами и грудиной), в особенности на
обеих больших грудных мышцах. Это может
увеличить риск мерцания предсердий и привести к
остановке сердца;
•
на костной части черепа, в области рта, полости глот-
ки или гортани;
•
в области шеи / сонной артерии / над затылком;
•
в области гениталий;
•
на коже с острыми или хроническими заболевани-
ями (поврежденная или воспаленная), например,
при болезненных и безболезненных воспалениях,
покраснениях, сыпи (например, аллергии), ожогах,
ушибах, опухолях и открытых и заживающих ранах,
на послеоперационных рубцах, находящихся в ста-
дии заживления;
•
при высокой влажности, например в ванной комнате
или во время приема душа;
•
после употребления алкоголя;
•
при одновременном подключении к высокочастотному
хирургическому прибору.
Перед использованием прибора проконсультируй-
тесь с лечащим врачом при:
•
острых заболеваниях, особенно при подозрении или
наличии гипертонических заболеваний, нарушениях
свертываемости крови, склонности к тромбоэмболи-
ческим заболеваниям, а также при злокачественных
образованиях;
•
любых заболеваниях кожи или открытых ранах;
•
неопределенных хронических болезненных состояни-
ях независимо от участка тела;
•
диабете;
•
любых расстройствах чувствительности с понижен-
ным болевым порогом (как например, нарушения об-
мена веществ);
•
параллельно проводимом медицинском лечении;
•
болях, связанных со стимулирующим лечением;
•
кожных раздражениях из-за длительной электродной
стимуляции на одном месте.
ПРЕДОСТЕРЕЖЕНИЕ
!
•
При попадании жидкости из аккумулятора на кожу или
в глаза необходимо промыть соответствующий участок
большим количеством воды и обратиться к врачу.
•
Опасность проглатывания мелких частей! Малень-
кие дети могут проглотить батарейки и подавиться ими.
Поэтому батарейки необходимо хранить в недоступном
для детей месте!
•
Обращайте внимание на обозначение полярности: плюс
(+) и минус (-).
•
Если батарейка потекла, очистите отделение для батаре-
ек сухой салфеткой, надев защитные перчатки.
•
Защищайте батарейки от чрезмерного воздействия
тепла.
•
Опасность взрыва! Не бросайте батарейки в огонь.
•
Не заряжайте и не замыкайте батарейки накоротко.
•
Если прибор длительное время не используется, извле-
ките из него батарейки.
•
Используйте батарейки только одного типа или равно-
ценных типов.
•
Заменяйте все батарейки сразу.
•
Не используйте перезаряжаемые аккумуляторы!
•
Не разбирайте, не открывайте и не разбивайте батарейки.
•
Если батарейка разряжена или изделие не используется
длительное время, извлеките батарейку из изделия. Это
позволит избежать повреждений прибора, которые могут

1 Introduzione
1.1 Che cos’è il Mini Pad?

1.2 Che cos’è il TENS e come funziona?
Per TENS (
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator, stimo-
lazione elettrica transcutanea
) si intende un apparecchio che
produce scariche elettriche usate per stimolare i nervi attraverso la
cute. Clinicamente testato e autorizzato, si tratta di un metodo effica-
ce, non medicale, privo di effetti collaterali (se usato correttamente),
ideato per il trattamento di dolori di origine diversa e utile anche per
l’autotrattamento. L’effetto analgesico può essere ottenuto, tra l’al-
tro, attraverso la soppressione della trasmissione del dolore alle fibre
nervose (soprattutto tramite impulsi ad alta frequenza) e l’aumento
del rilascio naturale di endorfine, che svolgono un’azione analgesica
nel sistema nervoso centrale (soprattutto tramite l’impiego a bassa
frequenza del TENS). Il metodo è dimostrato scientificamente e au-
torizzato a livello medico.
I casi che richiedono l’uso dell’apparecchio TENS devono essere spe-
cificati dal proprio medico curante che potrà dare inoltre le necessa-
rie informazioni per l’autotrattamento tramite TENS.
L’apparecchio TENS è clinicamente testato e autorizzato nei se-
guenti casi:

Gli apparecchi TENS funzionano attraverso la trasmissione di scariche
elettriche sulla cute. Il film gel funge da mezzo di trasmissione e si
usura con il passare del tempo: quando perde aderenza non consente
più al Mini Pad di rimanere completamente attaccato alla cute e deve
essere sostituito per evitare l’insorgere di irritazioni alla pelle dovute
all’aumento parziale della densità di corrente.

2. Indicazioni importanti
L’utilizzo dell’apparecchio non sostituisce il controllo e il trat-
tamento medico. In presenza di dolori o malattie rivolgersi
sempre prima al proprio medico.
AVVERTENZA!
Per prevenire danni alla salute, si sconsiglia vivamente l’utiliz-
zo del Mini Pad:
•
In presenza di apparecchi elettrici impiantati (ad es.,
pacemaker).
•
In presenza di impianti in metallo.
•
In presenza di pompa per insulina.
•
In presenza di febbre alta (ad es., > 39 °C).
•
In presenza di disturbi del ritmo cardiaco cronici o acuti e di al-
tri disturbi del sistema di generazione e conduzione dell’eccita-
mento cardiaco.
•
Nel caso in cui si soffra di epilessia.
•
In gravidanza.
•
Nel caso in cui si sia affetti da cancro.
•
In seguito a operazioni per le quali un aumento delle contrazioni
muscolari potrebbe interferire con il processo di guarigione.
•
Nell’area vicina al cuore. Gli elettrodi di stimolazio-
ne non devono assolutamente essere utilizzati in
nessun punto della cassa toracica anteriore (la par-
te delineata da costole e sterno), in particolare su
nessuno dei due grandi muscoli pettorali, per evitare un aumento
della fibrillazione ventricolare e il rischio di un arresto cardiaco.
•
Sulla scatola cranica, intorno alla bocca, alla faringe o alla laringe.
•
Nella zona del collo / della carotide / sulla nuca.
•
Nella zona dei genitali.
•
Sulla pelle affetta da patologie acute o croniche (lesioni o infiam-
mazioni), ad esempio, in caso di infiammazioni dolorose e indo-
lori, arrossamenti, eruzioni cutanee (ad es., allergie), ustioni, con-
tusioni, gonfiori e ferite aperte o in via di guarigione, su cicatrici
in via di guarigione.
•
In ambienti caratterizzati da un alto tasso di umidità (ad es., nella
stanza da bagno), nella vasca o sotto la doccia.
•
In seguito all’assunzione di alcolici.
•
In contemporanea con altri apparecchi chirurgici ad alta frequenza.
Prima di utilizzare l’apparecchio, consultare il proprio medico
curante nei seguenti casi:
•
Malattie acute, in particolare in caso di sospetto o comprovata
presenza di malattie legate all’ipertensione, disturbi della coa-
gulazione del sangue, tendenza a malattie tromboemboliche e
di neoplasie maligne.
•
Malattie della pelle di qualsiasi tipo o ferite aperte.
•
Stati dolorosi cronici non definiti, indipendentemente dalla zona
del corpo.
•
Diabete.
•
Disturbi della sensibilità di qualsiasi tipo con riduzione della sensi-
bilità al dolore (ad esempio, disturbi del metabolismo).
•
Trattamenti medici in corso.
•
Disturbi che compaiono durante il trattamento di stimolazione.
•
Irritazioni cutanee dovute a una stimolazione prolungata sullo
stesso punto.
AVVERTENZA!
•
Se il liquido della batteria viene a contatto con la pelle e con gli oc-
chi, sciacquarele parti interessate con acqua e consultare il medico.
•
Pericolo d’ingestione! I bambini possono ingerire le batterie e
soffocare. Tenere quindi le batterie lontano dalla portata dei bambini!
•
Prestare attenzione alla polarità positiva (+) e negativa (-).
•
In caso di fuoriuscita di liquido dalla batteria, indossare guanti protet-
tivi e pulire il vano batterie con un panno asciutto.
•
Proteggere le batterie dal caldo eccessivo.
•
Rischio di esplosione! Non gettare le batterie nel fuoco.
•
Le batterie non devono essere ricaricate o mandate in cortocircuito.
•
Qualora l’apparecchio non dovesse essere utilizzato per un periodo
prolungato, rimuovere le batteria dal vano batterie.
•
Utilizzare solo tipologie di batterie uguali o equivalenti.
•
Sostituire sempre tutte le batterie contemporaneamente.

Non utilizzare batterie ricaricabili!
•
Non smontare, aprire o frantumare le batterie.

Estrarre le batterie quando sono scariche o se l’apparecchio non viene
utilizzato per un lungo periodo. In questo modo si prevengono possibili

Se necessario, prima di introdurre le batterie, pulirle e detergere i
contatti dell’apparecchio.
PRECAUZIONI D’IMPIEGO:

Tenere l’apparecchio lontano da fonti di calore e non utilizzarlo

1. Getting to know your device
1.1 What is the mini pad?
Migraines, cramps, acute pain, pain resulting from injury and
chronic pain are all natural warning signs and need immediate
relief. The innovative mini pad is a self-adhesive TENS (trans-
cutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) device for pain relief.
The Mini pad uses TENS/EMS technology for targeted pain re-
lief. Made from medical-quality silicone rubber, the elegantly
designed Mini pad is extremely slim and flexible and adapts
perfectly to the area to be treated. The high-tech circuit pro-
vides energy-efficient treatments of 20 minutes each (up to
20 treatments per battery).
Mini pad is a safe and easy way of relieving pain and of-
fers users a completely new experience in dealing with pain.
1.2 What is TENS and what can it do?
TENS,
or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation
, re-
lates to the electrical stimulation of the nerves via the skin.
TENS is an effective non-pharmacological method of treat-
ing different types of pain that have a variety of causes and
has no side-effects if administered correctly. The method has
been clinically tested and approved and can be used for sim-
ple self-treatment. The pain-relieving or pain-suppressing ef-
fect is achieved by inhibiting the transference of pain to nerve
fibres (caused mainly by high-frequency impulses) and by in-
creasing the secretion of endorphins in the body. Their effect
on the central nervous system reduces the sensation of pain.
The method is scientifically substantiated and approved as a
form of medical treatment.
Any symptoms that could be relieved using TENS must be
checked by your GP. Your GP will also give you instructions on
how to carry out a TENS self-treatment regime.
TENS is clinically tested and approved to treat the following
complaints:
•
Back pain, particularly in the lumbar/cervical spine area
•
Sore joints (e.g. knee, hip and shoulder joints)
•
Neuralgia
•
Menstrual cramps in women
•
Pain resulting from injury to the musculoskeletal system
•
Pain caused by circulatory disorders
•
Chronic pain with various causes
TENS devices work by passing electrical currents over the
skin. The gel film is used as a transfer medium and is subject
to natural wear and tear. The gel film must be replaced if it
stops providing sufficient contact, as this will prevent the mini
pad from sticking to the skin. If it is not replaced, the partially
increased current density could irritate the skin.

2. Important information
The device is not a substitute for medical consultation
and treatment. Consult your doctor first if you are experi-
encing any pain or are suffering from an illness.
WARNING!
To avoid damage to health, we strongly advise against
using the mini pad in the following situations:
•
If you have implanted electrical devices (e.g. a
pacemaker).
•
If you have metal implants.
•
If you use an insulin pump.
•
If you have a high fever (e.g. > 39 °C).
•
If you have a known or acute cardiac arrhythmia, or disorders
of the heart’s impulse and conduction system.
•
If you suffer from a seizure disorder (e.g. epilepsy).
•
If you are pregnant.
•
If you have cancer.
•
After an operation, if strong muscle contractions could affect
the healing process.
•
The device must never be used near to the
heart. The stimulation electrodes must not be
placed on any part of the front ribcage (where
the ribs and breastbone are located), especial-
ly not on the two large pectorals. This can increase the risk of
ventricular fibrillation and induce cardiac arrest.
•
On the skeletal skull structure, or around the mouth, throat
or larynx.
•
In the neck area / carotid artery area / above the neck.
•
In the genital area.
•
On acutely or chronically diseased (injured or irritated) skin
(e.g. inflamed skin – whether painful or not, reddened skin,
rashes, e.g. allergies, burns, bruises, swellings, both open
and healing wounds, and post-operative scars where the
healing process could be affected).
•
In humid environments (e.g. in the bathroom) or when bath-
ing or showering.
•
Do not use after consuming alcohol.
•
Do not use if connected to a high-frequency surgical device.
Before using the device, consult your doctor if any of the
following applies to you:
•
Serious illnesses, in particular if you suspect or have been
diagnosed with high blood pressure, a blood coagulation
disorder, propensity to thrombo-embolic conditions or re-
current malignant growths.
•
Skin diseases or open wounds.
•
Unexplained chronic pain in any part of the body.
•
Diabetes.
•
Any sensory impairment that reduces the feeling of pain (e.g.
metabolic disorders).
•
If you are receiving medical treatment.
•
If you are already having stimulation treatment for exist-
ing conditions.
•
If you suffer from persistently irritated skin due to long-term
stimulation at the same electrode site.
WARNING!
•
If your skin or eyes come into contact with battery fluid, flush
out the affected areas with water and seek medical assistance.
•
Choking hazard! Small children may swallow and choke on
batteries. Store the batteries out of the reach of small children.
•
Observe the plus (+) and minus (-) polarity signs.
•
If a battery has leaked, put on protective gloves and clean the
battery compartment with a dry cloth.
•
Protect the batteries from excessive heat.
•
Risk of explosion! Never throw batteries into a fire.
•
Do not charge or short-circuit batteries.
•
If the device is not to be used for a long period, take the batter-
ies out of the battery compartment.
•
Use identical or equivalent battery types only.
•
Always replace all batteries at the same time.
•
Do not use rechargeable batteries.
•
Do not disassemble, split or crush the batteries.
•
Remove the battery from the item if it is empty or you do not
intend to use the item for a prolonged period of time. This pre-
vents damage which could occur due to leakage.
•
If required, clean the battery and device contacts before insert-
ing. Risk of overheating!
PRECAUTIONS:
•
Hold the device away from sources of heat and do not use
it in close proximity (c. 1 m) to shortwave or microwave
devices (e.g. mobile phones), as doing so can result in un-
pleasant current peaks.
•
Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or high tem-
peratures.
•
Protect the device from dust, dirt and humidity. Never im-
merse the device in water or other liquids.
•
The device is suitable for self-treatment.
•
If the device does not work properly, or you feel unwell or
experience pain, stop using it immediately.
•
Switch off the MiniTENS before you attach or remove it.
•
Do not adapt the MiniTENS in any way, for example, by cut-
ting or trimming it. This will produce a higher current density
and can be dangerous.
•
Do not use whilst asleep, driving a vehicle or operating
machinery.
