Question and answer
Number of questions: 12I have the coffee maker Sage Barista Express, model: BES875UK I have a problem with the “Grind Amount Dial” that controls the amount of fresh ground coffee dosed into the filter basket. Even though I have the grinding dial on minimum “0” (like on 10 o’clock) the amount of coffee entered the Portafilter when I start the grounding is more than needed and I have to remove some ground coffee to be able to press it with the integrated tamper. Is there any way to readjust the “grinding dial” so I can get a minimum and a maximum amount as it should be? Thanks

To readjust the grind amount dial on the Sage Barista Express coffee maker (model BES875UK), follow these steps: 1. Start by setting the GRIND AMOUNT dial to the 3 o'clock position as a starting point. 2. Adjust the dial towards "LESS" or "MORE" as needed to change the amount of coffee. 3. If you find that even at the lowest setting (0) the amount of coffee going into the portafilter is too much, you can try the following steps to achieve the desired minimum and maximum amounts: - Set the GRIND SIZE to the finest setting (1). - Use a 10mm socket to turn the nut on the conical burr grinder clockwise to loosen it. - Set the GRIND SIZE to the coarsest setting (16). - Unlock and remove the top burr, then carefully remove the nut, spring, and flat washer. - Clean the chute with a brush and insert the washers and grind fan using long-nose pliers. - Insert the lower burr, making sure the drive pin and cavity are aligned. - Insert the flat washer and spring washer, then turn the nut counterclockwise to tighten it. - Clear any blockage from the grinds exit chute using a brush or pipe cleaner. - Replace and lock the hopper, setting the GRIND SIZE to 5. 4. After adjusting the grind amount dial and following the steps above, you should now be able to achieve the desired minimum and maximum amounts of ground coffee in the portafilter.
