I don’t have sound on my TV. The auto-surround/stream direct button is flashing SP off. Could that be the problem?

The flashing "SP off" on the auto-surround/stream direct button of the Pioneer VSX-822 receiver indicates that the speaker output is turned off. This could be the reason why you don't have sound on your TV. To resolve this issue, you need to turn on the speaker output.

The possible reason why the Pioneer VSX-822 receiver is not turning on after the power was restored following a power outage in the neighborhood, even though it is connected to a power source, could be due to a few factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try: 1. Disconnect the power plug from the outlet and insert it again to ensure a proper connection. 2. Check for any loose strands of speaker wire touching the rear panel of the receiver, as this could cause it to shut off automatically. 3. Verify if the Auto Power Down function is enabled. If it is, the receiver may automatically turn off if it has not been operated for several hours. You can check and adjust the Auto Power Down setting in the menu. 4. If the receiver suddenly switches off, wait for about a minute and then try switching it back on. If the issue persists, it is recommended to contact a Pioneer authorized independent service company for further assistance. 5. If the power suddenly turns on or off, or the input suddenly changes when the Control with HDMI function is enabled, you can try disabling the Control with HDMI function in the HDMI Setup menu. 6. If the display shows "OVERHEAT" and the power turns off, it indicates that the temperature within the unit has exceeded the allowable value. Try moving the receiver to a location with better ventilation and lower the volume level. 7. If there is no sound output when an input function is selected, ensure that the volume is turned up, the mute function is disabled, and the proper speaker set is selected in the menu. Also, check the audio output settings of the source component. 8. If there is no image output when an input function is selected, make sure the components are correctly connected, and for the VSX-822 model, use the same type of video cables for the source component and TV. Additionally, check the input assignment and video input settings on the TV. 9. If there is no sound from the subwoofer, ensure that the subwoofer is switched on.

Good morning, all of a sudden I can't get my I-phone to play music through my speakers. ? I put the selector on I-pod/usb and hit the direct controll button and it usually comes right on. I resently added a turntable and have that playing on the DVDs spot on the selector as I also have a CD player hooked up as well in the cd spot on the selector. I may have pushed another button on front of panel , any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you Tim
