Receiving a message When an SM S message is receiv ed:
– a tone is heard (if the hands et ringer is
turned on )
– “Receiving SMS Message ” is
disp layed
– F is disp layed
Reading a received message 1
Press {j/O K }.
2 Select “SMS ”, t hen press {>}.
3 To access the public mailbox Select “Public ” , the n press {>}.
T o access a private m ailbox
Select the desi red mailb ox, press {>},
then ent er i ts passwo rd.
L If a mail box cont ains new (unread)
SMS messag es, “@ ” is dis played ne xt
to the tot al num ber of messa ges for
that mai lbox.
4 Select “Receive List ”, then pres s
{>}.
5 Press {e} or {v} repeate dly to selec t a
messag e.
L Messag es which have alrea dy been
read ar e indica ted by a “Q ”, even if
they w ere read usin g another h andset.
6 Press {j/O K } to read the message
content.
Note:
L T o call the mes sage sender , press {C}
or {s} .
L If “SMS Full ” is displ ayed , ne w SMS
messag es cann ot be recei ved. Erase
unneces sary mess ages (pag e 42, 43).
L If you rec eive a m essage from a part y
saved i n the hand set phon ebook, the
stored na me is display ed.
L Some SMS s ervice pr oviders attach a 1-
digit nu mber to the messag e sender’s
phone nu mber , and sender na mes stored
in the h andse t phonebo ok may n ot be
displ ayed as a r esult .
Replying to a message 1
While re ading a rec eived mes sage,
pres s {j/OK }.
2 Select “Reply ”, th en press {>}.
3 Enter a message (page 46), then press {j/OK }.
4 Edit the destination phone number and/or pre ss {j/OK}, then co ntinue
from step 7, “Writ ing and se nding a new
mess age” , page 41.
Editing/for warding a m essage
1 While reading a received message, press {j/OK }.
2 Select “Edit Messa ge”, then press
{>}, then continue from s tep 5, “Writ ing
and se nding a new mess age”, p age 41 .
Erasing received messages 1
While re ading a rec eived mes sage,
pres s {j/OK }.
2 Select “Erase ”, th en press {>}.
L T o erase all me ssages in the selec ted
mailbo x, selec t “Erase All ” , then
press {>} .
3 Select “Yes ”, then pr ess {>} .
