Using Caller ID service Import ant:
L This uni t is Caller ID c ompat ible. T o use
Caller ID feature s (such as display ing
caller p hone num bers), you must
subscri be to Calle r ID servic e. Consult
your servic e provider for det ails.
Caller ID feature s
When an o utsid e call is receive d, the caller’s
phone nu mber can be displ ayed.
L Phone num bers of th e last 50 diffe rent
callers will be lo gged in th e caller list.
L While li steni ng to a me ssage re corded by
the answ ering syste m using the ha ndset,
you can ca ll back the c aller with out having
to dial t he phone n umber (p age 51).
L When ca ller inform ation is received and it
matches a phone number stored in the
unit’ s phone book:
– The st ored name will be disp lay ed and
logged in the cal ler list.
– The ha nds et wi ll us e th e ring tone
assign ed to the c aller’s category .
– Bo th the bas e unit and handset will
announc e the audibl e call reco rding you
made.
L If the uni t is conn ected to a PBX system,
you may not rec eive the call er information .
L When the calle r dialled from an area
which do es not p rovide Caller ID servi ce,
“Out of Area ” will be dis playe d.
L When the calle r requested no t to se nd
caller inf ormation, ei ther no informati on or
“Private Caller ” will be displ ayed .
Missed c alls
If a call is not an swered, the unit treat s the
call as a misse d call. Th e number of missed
calls i s show n on the di splay . This lets y ou
know if you s hould v iew the caller l ist to s ee
who ca lled wh ile you we re out.
Call W aiting Caller ID
This is a ser vice of your serv ice p rov ider a nd
will only opera te if you have sub scribed to
this se rvice. Wh en yo u hear a ca ll wait ing
tone duri ng a con versat ion, the di splay wil l
show the sec ond calle r ’s inf orm atio n. Y o u
can ans wer the sec ond call by pressing {R }.
The f irst caller w ill be plac ed on hol d.

Category features for handset phonebook Catego ries can help you id entify w ho is
callin g by using d if ferent ring tones for
dif ferent cate gories o f callers . When ad ding
an entry t o the ha ndset pho nebook yo u can
assign it to the desired cate gory (p age 20) .
When a c all is re ceived f rom a cal ler
assign ed to a c ategory , the catego ry’s
ringt one you se lect is used.
Changing ca tegory ringtone s
Y ou can select a ringto ne for e ach cate gory .
If yo u select “Ext. Ringtone ” , the un it
will use t he ex tern al ri ngt one yo u set on
page 27 when calls f rom this cate gory a re
receiv ed. The def ault setti ng is “Ext.
Ringtone”.
1 Press {k} , t hen press {j/OK }.
2 Select “Category ”, then pre ss {>}.
3 Select a category , then pre ss {>}.
4 Select the current setting of the category ringtone , then pres s {>}.
5 Select the desired ringtone, then press {>}.
6 Press {ih} . Audible call for shared phonebook Audible call allows yo u to know who is
