Import ant:
L We re commend the use of Panason ic
recharge able batter ies noted on p age 6. If
you inst all non -rechargea ble batt eries and
start charging, the ba tteries ma y leak
electrol yte.
L Do not mix old and new batteries.
1 Press the notch on the handset cover firmly an d slide it in the direc tion of th e
arrow .
2 Remove th e old batt eries pos itive (S)
terminal first and i nstal l the new on es.

Turning the power on/off Power on
Press {ih} fo r about 1 s econd.
L The dis play wi ll chang e to the s tandby
mode.
Power off
Press {ih} fo r about 2 s econds.
L The dis play wi ll go bla nk.
Setting the date and time Import ant:
L Confirm th at the AC adaptor i s connected .
L Ensure tha t w is not fl ashing.
1 Press {j/O K }.
2 Select “Handset Setup ”, then pre ss
{>}.
3 Select “Time Settings ”, then pre ss
{>}.
4 Select “Set Date & Time ”, then pres s
{>}.
5 Enter the current day, month and year by select ing 2 digi ts for each.
Example: 1 7 May , 2005
Press {1 }{ 7 } {0 }{ 5 } {0 }{ 5}.
6 Enter the current hour and minute by select ing 2 digi ts for each.
L Y ou can s elect “AM ”, “PM ” or 24-hour
time ent ry by pressing {*} repea tedly .
Example: 3:30 PM
Press {0 }{ 3 } {3 }{ 0 } , th en press {*}
repeated l y until “03:30 PM ” is
disp layed.
7 Press {j/OK } .
8 Press {ih} . Note:
L T o correct a d igit, pres s {<} or {>} to
move t he cursor , then make t he
correction .
L The dat e and time may be inco rrect af ter a
power fai lure. In thi s case, set the date
and time agai n.
