6 Copy Copying
6.1 Making a copy 1 Adjust the width o f the document gui des (1)
to fit the actual size of the doc ument.
2 Insert the document (up to 10 pages) FACE DO WN until a single beep is heard and the
unit gr asps the document.
L If the document guides are not adjusted
to fit the document, re-adjust them.
3 If necessary , press {A} or {B} repeatedly to
select the desired resolution.
4 Press {COPY}.
L If necessary , enter the number of copies
(up to 30).
5 Press {ST AR T}, or wait f or 15 seconds.
L The unit will star t cop ying.
Note:
L Any document which can be se nt as a fax can
also be copied (page 55).
To select the resolution Select the desired resolution according to the
type of document.
– “FINE ” : For printed or typewritten
documents with small print.
– “SUPER F INE ” : For documents with v ery
small print.
– “PHOTO ” : F o r documents containing
photographs , shaded dra wings, etc.
L If y ou sel ect “STA NDARD ”, copying will be
done using “FINE ” mode.
Quick scan feature This f eature is helpful when you w ant to copy the
document, then remove it f or other uses. T o use
this f eature, activ ate f eature #34 (page 81)

L The document wil l be fed into the uni t and
scanned into memor y . The unit will then print
the data.
If the document e xceeds the memory
capacity , copying of the e xceeded document
will be canceled and thi s fe ature will be
turned OFF automatically .
Howe ver this f eature will not turn O FF
automatically when:
– you enter the n umber of copies, an d
memory becomes full during copying.
– memory becomes full during enlarge,
reduce or collate cop y .
To stop copying Pre ss {ST OP}.
6.1.1 More copying features To enlarge a document 1. Inser t the document, then press { COPY}.
2. Pre ss {>} .
3. Pre ss {A} repeatedly to select “150% ” or
“200% ”, then press {ST ART}.
L The unit will enlarge the center of the
upper par t of the document. T o make an
enlarged cop y of the bottom of the
document, turn the document around,
and then mak e a cop y .
Example: 150% enlarged copy
To reduce a document 1. Inser t the document, then press { COPY}.
2. Pre ss {>} .
3. Pre ss {B} repeatedly to select “92% ”, “86% ”
or “72% ” , then press {ST ART}.
