3 TelephoneMaking and Answ ering Calls
3.1 Making phone calls 3.1.1 With the handset 1 Lift the handset and press {TA L K }.

L Y ou can also select a line b y pressing
{LINE1 } (soft key 1 ) or {LINE 2} (soft
key 1 ), instead of pressing {TA L K }.
L “Talk ” will be display ed.
2 Dial the telephone number. 3 When finished talking, press {OFF} or place
the handset on the charger .

To mute your conversation During a call, you can mute y our unit so the other
par ty cannot listen to you. When th e call is
muted, y ou will be ab le to hear the other party .
Press {MUTE} (soft key 1).
L “Mute” will be displa y ed f or a f e w seconds
and { MUTE} (soft ke y 1 ) will flash.
L T o release the mute , pres s {MUT E } (s oft k ey
1).
L When y ou s witch b etween the receiv er and
speak er , the mute will be released.
Voice enhancer feature This f eature clarifies the v oice of the person y ou
are talking to , reproducing a more natur al-
sounding v oice that is easier to hear and
understand.
Pre ss {(VE)} (soft ke y 1 ) during a conv ersation
to turn this feature ON.
L W will be displa y ed.
L T o turn this feature OFF , press {(VE) } (soft
key 1 ).
L The selected setting wi ll be v alid f or the ne xt
call.
{(VE) } (soft k ey 1 ) will not be s hown while y ou
are using both lines simul taneously (page 38,
51). In that e v ent, you c an also turn this feature
ON or OFF during a call b y perf orming the
f ollo wing st eps:
1. Pre ss { MENU}.
2. Pre ss {4 } to select “4=Vo ice en hancer ”
or “4=V.E . off ”.
Y ou can also turn this feature ON or OFF when
the handset is not in use.
1. Pre ss { MENU}, then {5 }.
2. Pre ss {1 } or {0 } to select the desired setting.

3. Pre ss { SA VE} (soft ke y 1).
4. Pre ss { OFF}.
Clarity booster feature This f eature can i mprov e sound clarity when the
handset is used in an area where there ma y be
interf erence. During an outside call, this f eature
will be turned ON automatically when necessar y .
This f eature will turn OFF when you hang up , put
a call on hold, or mak e a conf erence call . It will
not turn OFF automatically during a call. Y ou can
also turn this feature ON or OFF man ually .
1. Pre ss { MENU} during an outside call.
2. Pre ss {3 } to select “3=Bo oste r on ” or
“3=B ooste r off ”.
L “Boos ter on” will flash on the displa y .
L If this f eature is turned OFF manually during
a call, it will not be turned ON automatically
during the same call.
System capabilities
Up to 2 ex tensions (2 handsets

and the base unit) can be used at a time . The
maximum oper ating number ma y decrease
depending on the state of use .
