If your thermostat has a dead band, your installation is, as it were, 'at rest'. The thermostat only switches on when, for example, the difference deviates more than 2˚C from the set room temperature.

The Nest has been working without problem until today. I have the temp set for 68, but the temp in our house (current temp) shows 64 on the outer rim, with the statement that it will reach 68 in 2 hours. Periodically the graduated lines of the outer circle have a moving line going from the 64 to 68, but the temp in the house stays at 64. It has been this way since early morning- it is now 1:30 CST. It would be nice to have a paper user manual, rather than just the tech manual. I'm in my mid 70's, so the tech manual is difficult. Help if you can. Thanks

How do you turn off the fan manually? Ours keeps running even when the furnace isn't heating. There is only enable and disable fun. We have disabled the fan but it still runs.
Where/how do I print a copy of a manual? I guess the question is "do you have one"?
