Question and answer
Number of questions: 117Agitator broke apart into 3 pieces during wash cycle. (Nothing heavy and it wasn’t off balance). We ordered another agitator from Maytag, but we need suggestions on how to remove bottom bolt so we can put the new one on

To remove the bottom bolt of the agitator from the Maytag MVW7230HW washing machine, please follow these steps: 1. Remove the packing tray from the tub. Open the lid and remove the cardboard packing tray from the tub. Make sure to remove all other packaging materials from the washer tub. 2. Free the power cord. Firmly grasp the power cord plug and pull it to free it from the rear panel. Gently place the power cord over the control panel to allow free access to the back of the washer. 3. Attach the drain hose to the drain port. Remove the red plastic plug from the black drain port on the back of the washer. If the clamp is not already in place on the elbow end of the drain hose, slide it over the end. Squeeze the clamp with pliers and slide the black elbow end of the drain hose onto the black drain port. Secure it with the clamp. 4. Place the drain hose in the standpipe. Place the hose into the standpipe or over the side of the laundry tub. Make sure that 4.5 inches (114 mm) of the drain hose is inside the standpipe. Do not force excess hose into the standpipe or lay it on the bottom of the laundry tub. Use the provided drain hose form.

When washing on the heavy-duty cycle, if the washer does not add any water and goes straight into washing, there may be a few possible reasons for this issue. First, ensure that the water supply is properly connected and turned on. Check the water inlet hoses for any kinks or blockages that may be restricting the water flow. If the water supply is fine, it is possible that the load size or type is not suitable for the heavy-duty cycle. The heavy-duty cycle is designed for large, heavily soiled loads. If the load is small or lightly soiled, the washer may not add as much water. Additionally, the washer may have a water level sensor that detects the load size and adjusts the water level accordingly. If the sensor is malfunctioning, it may not detect the need for additional water. To address this issue, try the following steps: 1. Check the water supply - ensure it is properly connected and turned on, and check for any kinks or blockages in the water inlet hoses. 2. Adjust the load size - consider adding more items to increase the load size if it is small or lightly soiled. 3. Check the water level sensor - if the problem persists, there may be an issue with the sensor. For further assistance, please contact Maytag support.
