Does the setting knob turn while the dryer is in use? It’s new and no manual and not sure how to use correctly. I don’t want my clothes to dry for hours if it doesn’t turn off

Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Maytag MED4500MW below.

What is a condenser dryer?

A condenser dryer is a dryer in which condensation ends up in a reservoir.

What is a drain dryer?

A drain dryer is a dryer in which the warm air and condensation are drained through a hose.

What is the best thing to do about a smelly dryer?

It is best to wipe the dryer drum with a damp cloth and some lemon cleaner.

There is a burning smell from my dryer, now what?

Check the following: - That the fluff filter is clean. - That the bottom of the dryer is free of dust. - That the drain hose is clean. If the above does not help, a mechanic should be called in.

Why is my dryer not turning on?

Make sure the dryer is plugged into a working electrical outlet and that the circuit breaker has not tripped. Additionally, check if the door is properly closed, as the dryer will not start if the door is open or not fully closed.

Why is my dryer not heating up?

Ensure that the dryer is connected to a gas supply, if applicable, and that the gas valve is turned on. For electric dryers, confirm that the dryer is receiving adequate power by checking the circuit breaker. Also, check the lint filter and exhaust vent for blockages, as restricted airflow can cause insufficient heating.

How do I clean the lint filter?

Locate the lint filter, usually found inside the dryer door or on top of the dryer, and pull it out. Remove any lint accumulation by hand or using a soft brush. Rinse it with water if needed. Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinserting it.

My clothes are taking longer to dry. What could be the issue?

Check if the lint filter and exhaust vent are clear of any blockages, as this can hinder the airflow and increase drying time. Also, verify that the selected drying cycle matches the type of load. Overloading the dryer or using a low heat setting may prolong drying time.

How can I prevent wrinkles in my clothes?

To minimize wrinkles, promptly remove the clothes from the dryer at the end of the cycle. Shake the garments out before placing them in the dryer, and avoid overloading the dryer, as this can lead to clothes tangling and wrinkling. Using a cool-down cycle at the end can also help reduce wrinkling.
