Systolic pressure is the top number that the blood pressure monitor will indicate. Systolic pressure refers to the amount of pressure in your arteries during the contraction of your heart muscle.

Wrap the cuff around your upper arm about 2 to 3 centimeters above the bend of your elbow, making sure it is snug but not too tight.
Close the air release valve on the bulb, squeeze the bulb to inflate the cuff until the pressure reaches around 200 millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
Place the stethoscope earpieces in your ears and gently place the stethoscope's chestpiece over the brachial artery on the inside of your elbow. Inflate the cuff until you no longer hear any sound through the stethoscope, then slowly deflate it.
Check if the air release valve is completely closed and ensure that the tubing is securely connected. If the needle still does not move, gently tap on the gauge or bulb to release any potential air bubbles that may be blocking the system.
Wipe the cuff, tubing, and gauge with a mild disinfectant wipe after each use and allow them to air dry. Store the device in a clean and dry place to prevent damage or contamination. Regularly inspect the tubing and bulb for any signs of wear or damage, and replace if necessary.
