There could be a few reasons for this issue. Firstly, make sure that the water reservoir is filled to the appropriate level. Additionally, check that the coffee grounds are properly distributed and not too compacted in the portafilter. Lastly, ensure that the coffee grind size is suitable for your desired brewing method and adjust it accordingly.
Cleaning the steam wand is important to maintain the quality of your coffee. After each use, it is recommended to wipe the wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. For a deeper clean, you can detach the steam tip and soak it in warm, soapy water. Rinse it thoroughly and reattach it once it is clean.
If you notice that the coffee extraction is taking longer than usual, try adjusting the grind size to make it slightly coarser. This can help the water flow more easily through the coffee grounds and improve extraction speed. Additionally, ensure that the coffee grounds are evenly distributed in the portafilter and not too densely packed.
Descaling your coffee maker is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain its performance. A general guideline is to descale the machine every 2-3 months, depending on your water hardness. However, if you notice a decrease in brewing or steaming efficiency, it may be necessary to descale more frequently.

Question and answer
Number of questions: 2I had concerns about the brew temperature so I installed a thermometer in top of the E61. After a good hour for it to heat up, and after letting it run for a good 20 seconds..the hottest temperature the water reached was 81,2C. This is after I raised the PED to the highest it will co which is 126. At factory setting of 121 the temperature maxes out at 79,3. My understanding is that the head (where thermometer is) should be between 92C-96C
