Before You Start

utility and electrical lines as well as having all underground
lines marked if digging will take place.

Make sure all guards and shields are installed and in good

working condition when operating the machine.

Allow only persons to operate this machine who have fully

read and comprehended this manual, who have been
properly trained in the safe operation of this machine.
Serious injury or death can result from the inability to read,
understand, and follow instructions provided in this
manual.

Wear all the proper personal protective equipment for head,

hands, feet, eyes and ears. This machine can produce noise
loud enough to cause hearing damage when ears are
exposed for extended periods unprotected.

Check to see that the operator presence control and all

shielding are in working order.

Familiarize yourself with the job site. Be aware of any

obstacles that you might encounter.

Make sure the working area is clear of people and animals.

Hazard control and accident prevention are dependent
upon awareness, concern, prudence and proper training
involved in operation, transport, maintenance, and
storage of the stand-on compact loader. Therefore, it is
absolutely essential that no one operates the stand-on
compact loader without first having read, fully
understood, and become totally familiar with the
Operator’s Manual. Make sure the Operator has paid
particular attention to:

Perform the following Operating Checklist before
operating your stand-on compact loader.

Operator Presence Control

Refer to Figure 3-1:
The operator presence control is in place for the safety of
the Operator and anyone in the surrounding area. It
should be maintained in good working condition. Do not
operate the machine if the operator presence control is
not functioning properly.
Located under the operator platform, the operator
presence control detects when the Operator is present
on the operator platform. The operator presence control
must detect an Operator in order to activate the
hydraulics, drive the machine or operate the loader. All
hydraulically powered functions will stop when the
operator presence control does not detect an Operator.
The operator presence control can be temporarily
overridden. The temporary override procedure can be
found on page 24.
