A friend has a 1959 Mk1 Jaguar with a Borg Warner automatic transmission. We have been trying to figure out how to obtain an accurate reading of the transmission fluid level. One manual says check it with the motor running but that just results in an entirely wet dipstick displaying no level information. Another says run the engine until hot, then turn it off and quickly check. When we do that (wipe stick, reinsert, withdraw again) no fluid level shows at all, which we know is not right. Any suggestions?Thanks,Stuart
