Which size of needle you can best use depends on the thickness of the fabric you use. With a thick fabric you should use a thick needle. The packaging of your needle states for which substances your needle is suitable.
Generally, a sewing needle lasts about 7 to 9 hours.
There can be several causes for needle breakage: - Not using the right needle for the right fabric - The needle is set too low - The fabric is not properly guided - The bobbin case is not inserted correctly
Ensure that the machine is properly plugged into a working power outlet and that the power switch is turned on. Check the power cord for any damage or loose connections. Additionally, make sure that the foot pedal is connected securely.
Start by raising the presser foot and turning off the machine. Follow the threading path indicated on the machine, which usually involves passing the thread through various guides, tension discs, and the needle. Make sure to properly engage the tension mechanism for optimal stitching.
Check if the needle is bent or dull and replace it if necessary. Ensure that the needle is inserted correctly with the flat side facing the back. Re-engage the presser foot lever to ensure proper tension on the fabric. Lastly, adjust the stitch length and tension settings to avoid skipping stitches.
Locate the tension dial, typically located on the front of the machine. Turning it clockwise increases tension, while turning it counterclockwise decreases tension. Make gradual adjustments and test stitches on a scrap fabric until the desired tension is achieved.
Regularly clean the machine by removing lint and built-up thread from the bobbin area, feed dogs, and needle plate using a small brush or vacuum attachment. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the recommended areas, such as the bobbin race and needle bar, as specified in the manual. Remember to keep the machine covered when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

When I've worked on these and come across ones that do this, I just part them out. I'd rather not risk fire or electrocution by rewiring. It'll cost you more than it's worth to get it fixed by a certified tech.
I am delighted to have found the original manual for my Husqvarna 5710. Lots of useful information, but no answer to my situation. There is no top view in the schematic, only front, side and back. At the top, between the 2 thread pins and the end of the handle, there is a small hole. It is not identified anywhere in the manual. I would like to know if this hole is for greasing the sewing machine. Your clarification, if you can give it to me, is really important. My sewing machine is a veteran champion and gifted, but I can't find any reference on how I can lubricate without disassembling the machine.

No, it is not a lubrication hole. You have to take the back off to oil the machine, which is pretty straight forward.
