To eliminate the solid black line on the map mode of your Humminbird HELIX 7 fish finder, try the following steps: 1. Press the Menu button to access the main menu. 2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Sonar menu tab. 3. Select the Sonar Colors option. 4. Make sure the Sonar Colors palette is set to "Original". 5. Look for the Structure ID option and make sure it is enabled. 6. If the Structure ID option is enabled, the solid black line represents weak returns in blue and strong returns in red. You can adjust the sensitivity settings to reduce the visibility of the black line. 7. If you prefer a different display, you can try experimenting with other Sonar Colors palettes to see if they provide a clearer view without the black line. 8. Additionally, you can try enabling the WhiteLine feature, which highlights the strongest sonar returns in white and helps define the bottom on the display.

I have tried everything and can’t seem to get my Helix 7 chirp DI GPS G2 to do what I want, like water temp, locate fish, ect. There must be an easier way to get this thing to work. I also want to hook it up to my Min Kota trolling motor. So what do I need to do that. I’m sorry but I must have a brain lock. Lol

Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Humminbird HELIX 7 below.

Why is my Humminbird HELIX 7 fish finder not turning on?

Ensure that the power cable is securely connected and check if the power source has power. If the issue persists, check the fuse and consider battery voltage, as low voltage can prevent the unit from turning on.

How can I adjust the sensitivity to get a clearer image?

Press the "MENU" button, navigate to the "Sonar" tab, and select "Sensitivity." Increase or decrease the sensitivity level until you achieve a clear image without excessive clutter or interference.

Why am I not seeing any fish targets on the display?

Verify that the transducer is properly installed and completely submerged. Ensure the transducer is clean and free from any obstructions that may interfere with sonar signals. Adjust the range and sensitivity settings to optimize the fish detection capabilities.

How do I interpret the different colors and shapes on the screen?

The colors and shapes on the display represent different underwater objects and structures. Generally, fish are displayed as arches or fish symbols, while vegetation and bottom structures are shown as varying colors and shapes. However, interpretation varies depending on settings and conditions. Familiarize yourself with the device's user interface to better understand the specific display indications.

How can I mark important waypoints or fishing spots on my Humminbird HELIX 7?

Press the "MARK" button when you reach the desired location to create a waypoint. Adjust the label, icon, and other information to ensure easy identification later. Waypoints can be saved and accessed for future reference, allowing you to revisit successful fishing spots or notable locations.
