Your Hoover vacuum cleaner losing suction power can be due to the following causes: - The suction power is not set to maximum - The dust container or dust bag is full - The hose, brush or tube is clogged
A clean filter is important to maintain the vacuum cleaner's suction power. Therefore, check the filter regularly. When a filter is clogged, dust absorption decreases and energy consumption increases.
A commonly used method is to put a little washing powder in the dust container or the dust bag.
For allergy sufferers, vacuuming the house at least twice a week is recommended.
Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet, and check if the circuit breaker has tripped. Additionally, ensure that the power switch on the vacuum cleaner is in the "on" position.
Clean the filters and remove any clogs or debris from the brush roll and suction hose. Confirm that the dirt cup is empty and properly installed. Also, check if the brush roll is spinning freely and not blocked by any obstructions.
Locate the brush roll height adjustment knob, usually located near the base of the vacuum cleaner. Turn the knob to raise or lower the brush roll to the desired height for the specific type of floor surface you are cleaning.
Check if the filters are dirty or clogged, as this can restrict airflow and cause the vacuum cleaner to overheat. Ensure that the brush roll is clean and free from any entangled debris. Also, examine if the hose or nozzle is obstructed or if the dirt cup is full. Cleaning these components should resolve the overheating issue.
It is recommended to replace the filters every 3-6 months, depending on usage and the manufacturer's instructions. However, regular maintenance, such as cleaning and tapping out excess debris from the filters, can extend their lifespan. Remember, clean filters are vital for optimal vacuum performance.
