Our clothes get tangled together during the wash cycle and clump into a ball causing an unbalanced spin cycle. What causes this and how do we correct it?
Insert clothes as loosely as possible. Minimize weight where feasible. Don't tamp down to make more room.
....And select the appropriate load size, noting that the lowest setting is barely enough to cover the bottom. Use "Precise Fill" almost every time, because it goes by weight, not volume. Most of the time that will result in a maximum fill, but, it's better than having too little water.
How to remove the agitator to clean the inside of it towards the base of the agitator?
The agitator on this (and most other top-load washing machines are NOT meant to be removed. You should not need to clean the base at all, but, if something happens that requires it, set the size dial to the lowest level, add 1/4 cup bleach (NOT bleach substitute) or 1/2 cup lemon juice or vinegar. Slosh it around by gently spinning the basket by hand, then, let it sit for about an hour. That should dissolve any discoloration, mold, etc., which may be at the bottom (again, it really shouldn't happen, especially, if you run the machine weekly). Then, close the lid, set the dial to "speed wash" or similar, and start the washer (do NOT add detergent or fabric softener or anything else). When the machine finishes, any gunk should be gone (third time: it really shouldn't happen!).
What if you have a nail stuck through one of the agitator paddles?
I put 2 twin sheets and 2 pillowcases in my washer model (#GTW465ASN3WW) and when they finished washing, I noticed several areas of COMPLETE dryness. The setting was NOT "precise fill". It was on "deep fill". This has happened several times, with different settings. Why?
My washer will start the shuts off in a few seconds. I tried spin cycle it drains but only spins a few seconds the stops. I hear clicking sounds. I did the code search the 2 lights that showed were wash and spin.
This particular model will start and stop, twice. Once to ensure that both water inlets (hot and cold) are flowing properly, and the second time to auto-sense the weight of your clothes, assuming you selected "Precise Fill," which should be the permanent setting for the vast majority of loads. Be patient. It may take a while for it to start the actual wash cycle, but, no more than two minutes or so. Odds are that your dishwasher does something similar (i.e., start, stop, wait, run). If it won't run after 5 minutes, then something is wrong. If it's still under warranty, call for service. If not, try unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes, then, plug it back in, then hit the start/pause button. If THAT doesn't work, call for service.
How do you Rinse something
To do a rinse-only, run the washer without any detergent using the "Speed Wash" or "Rinse Only" or similar setting (it varies from model to model).
How do I work this washing machine I can't get it to even wash through a whole cycle Everytime I start it after I fill it with water it stops and cut off but every time I put it on spin cycle it spins all the way through and cuts off and drains the water out am I doing something wrong how do I wash my clothes
I answered a similar question for this page. Most of the time, it just requires patience.
Washer won't fill can't find owners manual
If your question is that the water level is too low, change the size setting to "Precise Fill." If your question is that there is no water, check that the hot and cold water faucets are turned on (after ensuring that they are properly connected to the machine, of course!). If neither helps, call for service.
how to wash a comforter or blanket in gtw335asnww washer
I tried, heavy & bulk loads. It doesn't "fill" tub w/ water per full or max setting. Only half the tub. I WANT WATER! HOW ?!
Select "Precise Fill" or whatever the maximum level is for your machine (it differs between models).
Tub fills but does not wash. The drain and spin cycle will work if clothes are not completely spun dry.
