Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the GE ADEL50LZ below.
Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet and that the unit's power switch is turned on. Additionally, check if the water tank is full or not properly inserted, as the dehumidifier will not start if this is the case.
Use the control panel to set your desired humidity level. Typically, you can adjust it by pressing the up or down buttons until the desired level is displayed on the screen. The dehumidifier will automatically cycle on and off to maintain the set humidity.
Ensure that the humidity level in the room is higher than the set humidity level on the dehumidifier. If the ambient humidity is already low, the dehumidifier may not extract much moisture from the air. Additionally, check if the air filter is clean and not clogged, as a dirty filter can affect the unit's effectiveness.
First, check if the unit is placed on a stable and level surface, as vibrations can cause noise. If the noise persists, it might indicate an issue with the fan or compressor. Contact customer support for assistance or to arrange a repair.
Regularly clean the air filter by gently vacuuming or rinsing it with water. Ensure it is completely dry before reinserting it. Additionally, wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid using harsh chemicals or submerging the dehumidifier in water.

Question and answer
Number of questions: 5ADEL50LZQ1 I hear the fan running but the compressor doesn't appear to be working. The unit shuts off after a while. There is no water in the bucket. Is there a fuse or a reset switch for the compressor?

Having the same problem. Used it for one season prior.
When I connect a hose to it it still fill the water container and shuts off, why does it not drain through the hose?
I purchased the ADEL50LZQ1 on June 23, 2023. It worked fine last summer. It was unplugged over the winter. Now it doesn't cycle on unless I turn it off and turn it back on or unplug it and plug it back in. If I have it set at 45 or 50, I return a few hours later to find it not running and reading 60. The filter cleaning light has not come on. The end of the hose is damp, but I don't see other evidence of water being removed from the air, no stream to the drain or puddling.

@Donna Clark I am literally dealing with the exact same issue as you are right now. Came on to see about troubleshooting and found your comment. A bit aggravating especially after spending a good bit of money on it last year.
