Installation Instructions* for Multi-Door Refrigerator

WARNING
To avoid electric shock, which can cause death or severe personal injury, do
not connect your refrigerator to an electrical power source until you have
completed Step 2 of these instructions.
CAUTION
Shifting the refrigerator
from side to side may
damage flooring.
IMPORTANT
If you are installing your refrigerator without connecting it
to a water supply, make sure the ice maker’s power switch
is turned O (see the Use & Care Manual for more details).
NOTE
If you need to remove the doors to get your refrigerator into the house, please refer to Section
3: Door Removal, or, for more detailed instructions, DOOR REMOVAL in the Use & Care Manual.
These installation instructions are provided only as a possible customer option. Frigidaire recom-
mends that you use a service or kitchen contracting professional to install your refrigerator.
1
Installation Preparation
Be sure to coordinate site preparation and installation with
your kitchen contractor.
Include these minimum guidelines in your site preparation:
Choose a place near a grounded electrical outlet.
Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
Avoid direct sunlight and close proximity to a range,
dishwasher or other heat source.
Floor should be level and able to
support a fully loaded refrigerator.
The refrigerator’s Ice Dispenser
requires water supply access.
Plan for easy access to counter
tops when removing food.
For complete access to drawers
and freezer baskets, doors must
be able to fully open.
Load refrigerator from side of cabinet only.
Do not run retaining straps over handles nor overtighten straps.
Never use refrigerator handles to move the refrigerator.
Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and plumbing
and electrical connections: Sides & Top: in. / Rear: 1 in.
CAUTION
Room temperatures below
55°F (13°C) or above
110°F (43°C) will impair
cooling ability of your
refrigerators compressor.
NOTE
Please call 1-800-374-4432 if you
need assistance with this installation.
2
Before Installing The Water Supply Line, You Will Need:
Basic Tools: adjustable wrench, flat-blade screw-
driver, and Phillips
TM
screwdriver.
Access to a household cold water line with water
pressure between 30 and 100 psi.
A water supply line made of ¼ in. (6 mm) OD, cop-
per or braided, flexible stainless steel tubing. To de-
termine the length of tubing needed, measure the
distance from the ice maker inlet valve at the back
of the refrigerator to your cold water pipe. Then
add approximately 7 ft., so the refrigerator can be
moved out for cleaning.
A shuto valve to connect the water supply line to your household water system. DO NOT
use a self-piercing type shuto valve.
A compression nut and ferrule (sleeve) for connecting a copper water supply line to the ice
maker inlet valve.
Water Supply Connection
WARNING
To avoid electric shock,
which can cause death
or severe personal injury,
disconnect the refrigerator
from electrical power before
connecting a water supply
line to the refrigerator.
CAUTION
To Avoid Property Damage:
Copper or Stainless Steel braided, flexible tubing is recommended for the water sup-
ply line. Water supply tubing made of ¼ in. (6 mm) plastic is not recommended to be
used. Plastic tubing greatly increases the potential for water leaks, and the manufac-
turer will not be responsible for any damage if plastic tubing is used for the supply line.
DO NOT reuse compression fitting or use thread seal tape.
DO NOT install water supply tubing in areas where temperatures fall below freezing.
Chemicals from a malfunctioning softener can damage the ice maker. If the ice maker is
connected to soft water, ensure that the softener is maintained and working properly.

Most of these conditions can be met by raising or
lowering the adjustable anti-tip legs.
To level the cabinet using the anti-tip legs:
1. Slightly open freezer drawer.
2. Lower anti-tip legs until they are both touching
the floor. Use a pair
of pliers to adjust.

Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Frigidaire FRFG1723AV below.

How do I prevent drops from forming on the glass plates of my fridge?

There may be various causes for this, it is recommended to check the following: - Is the drain hole free of dirt? - Does the refrigerator door close properly? - Is the refrigerator not too full so that air can circulate properly? - Is the temperature not set below 5 degrees?

What do I do about a smelly fridge?

A common method for solving the problem of a smelly fridge is to pour vinegar into the drain and temporarily place a cup of vinegar in the fridge.

How much free space does my fridge need?

A minimum of 2.5 centimetres of free space around the fridge is needed to ventilate properly.

What does R-410A stand for?

R-410A is a refrigerant used in machines that cool to zero degrees Celsius.

Why is my refrigerator not cooling properly?

There are a few possible reasons for this issue. First, check if the temperature settings are correct, ensuring the fridge is set to a temperature below 40°F (4°C). Also, make sure the airflow vents inside the fridge are not blocked. Additionally, examine the condenser coils at the back of the fridge for any dust or dirt buildup that might be affecting cooling efficiency. Lastly, ensure the door seals are properly sealing the unit to maintain optimal temperature.

How do I troubleshoot water leakage from my refrigerator?

Water leakage can be caused by multiple factors. Firstly, check if the water supply line to the fridge is securely connected and not damaged. Inspect the water filter, located either in the fridge or at the back, for any obstructions or signs of clogging. Verify that the drain pan underneath the fridge is placed correctly and not overflowing. Lastly, ensure the door gaskets are free from cracks or tears, allowing excess moisture inside.

What should I do if the ice maker is not producing ice?

One potential reason for this could be a clogged water inlet valve or water filter. Check the inlet valve for any obstructions or signs of damage and clean or replace as necessary. Similarly, the water filter might need replacement if it is clogged. Make sure the ice maker is turned on and is set to the "On" position. Additionally, ensure the freezer temperature is set below 10°F (-12°C) as ice production may be affected if it is warmer.

How can I resolve an excessive frost buildup in the freezer?

Frost buildup can occur due to a few reasons. Begin by checking if the freezer door is fully closed and the gasket is sealing properly to prevent warm air from entering. Verify that food packages are not blocking the air vents, impeding proper airflow. Also, ensure the freezer temperature is set to the recommended level, usually around 0°F (-18°C). If the issue persists, it may be necessary to defrost the freezer manually to remove any excessive ice buildup.

What should I do if my refrigerator is making unusual noises?

Unusual noises can indicate various issues. If you hear a rattling or vibrating noise, it could be due to the fridge not being level or the condenser fan motor being faulty. Ensure the refrigerator is placed on a level surface and adjust the leveling legs if needed. If you hear a buzzing or humming sound, it might be related to the compressor or the water valve. In such cases, it is recommended to contact a service technician for further assistance and diagnosis.
