Precautions

• Do not exceed the specication ratings.
• All wiring must conform to local and national electrical codes and ordinances.
• This control is a precision instrument, and should be handled carefully. Rough handling or
distorting components could cause the control to malfunction.
WARNING
!
Do not use on circuits exceeding specied voltage.
Higher voltage will damage control and could
cause shock or re hazard.
Do not short out terminals on gas valve or primary
control to test. Short or incorrect wiring will burn
out thermostat and could cause personal injury
and/or property damage.
CAUTION
!
To prevent electrical shock and/or equipment
damage, disconnect electrical power to system,
at main fuse or circuit breaker box, until
installation is complete.
Leveling Thermostat
Leveling is for appearance only and
will not aect thermostat operation.
CAUTION
!
To prevent compressor and/or property damage, if the outdoor temperature is below 50°F,
DO NOT operate the cooling system.
Do not allow the compressor to run unless the compressor oil heaters have been operational
for 6 hours and the system has not been operational for at least 5 minutes.

@Cal Wells yes it can. Hit the menu button twice until it shows 02 in the upper right corner. Then use the up and down arrows to input the actual room temperature. (You will need a separate thermometer). Then hit exit. Should do it for you.

The AUX heat stays on even when the room temp is only 1 degree less than the setting. Heat pump is running and blowing warm air.

Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Emerson 1F85U-22NP below.

Where is the best location to place the thermostat?

The best place for the thermostat is the room where you spend the most time, in many cases the living room or kitchen. Place the thermostat about one and a half metres above the floor, not in the sun and not on an outside wall.

What is the dead band of a thermostat?

If your thermostat has a dead band, your installation is, as it were, 'at rest'. The thermostat only switches on when, for example, the difference deviates more than 2˚C from the set room temperature.

What is the ideal room temperature?

Most people find that the ideal room temperature is between 19 and 22 degrees Celsius.

How can I program the thermostat to turn on and off at specific times?

To program the thermostat for specific times, press the "Program" button and use the arrow keys to select the desired day. Then, set the desired temperature using the arrow keys and press "Hold" to confirm. Repeat this process for each desired time period.

Why is my thermostat displaying an incorrect temperature?

If the displayed temperature seems inaccurate, you can calibrate it by pressing the "System" button twice to enter the advanced settings. Use the arrow keys to navigate to "Calibrate Temperature" and adjust it accordingly.

How do I change the heating or cooling setpoints?

You can adjust the heating or cooling setpoints by pressing the "Up" or "Down" arrow keys until the desired temperature is displayed. The thermostat will automatically maintain this setpoint whenever the heating or cooling system is activated.

My thermostat isn't turning on the heating or cooling system. What should I do?

If the system does not turn on, firstly ensure that the thermostat is set to the desired mode (heating or cooling) and that the temperature is set higher or lower than the current room temperature, depending on the desired mode. If the issue persists, check the circuit breaker or fuse box to ensure there is power supply to the system.

What should I do if the thermostat display is blank?

If the display is blank, check if the thermostat is receiving power by confirming that the power switch is in the "On" position. Additionally, ensure that the batteries, if applicable, are properly installed and not depleted. If none of these actions resolve the issue, please contact a professional technician for further assistance.
