Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Electrolux EHE6899SA below.
It is recommended to completely defrost your freezer at least once every six months.
A freezer must be transported upright at all times. It is very bad for a freezer to be transported on its side as oil from the compressor can end up in the evaporator.
A commonly used method is to temporarily place a cup of vinegar in the freezer.
Check if the temperature control settings are set appropriately. Make sure the door is sealing properly and not obstructed. Also, ensure the condenser coils are clean and free from dust or debris, as this might affect the cooling efficiency of the freezer.
To defrost the freezer, first turn it off and unplug it from the power source. Remove all the food and place it in a cooler with ice packs to keep it chilled. Leave the freezer door open to allow the ice to melt. You can expedite the process by placing a bowl of hot water inside the freezer or using a hairdryer on low heat. Once the ice has melted, wipe the interior clean and dry before plugging the freezer back in.
Check if the freezer door is closing properly. A faulty door seal can result in excessive condensation, which may lead to water leaks. Additionally, examine the drainage system to ensure it is not blocked or clogged. Regularly cleaning the drainage tube or pan helps in preventing water leakage.
Locate the water filter compartment, which is often on the front or inside the freezer. Open the compartment by following the provided instructions, usually involving a twist or push mechanism. Remove the old filter and discard it properly. Insert the new filter, making sure it is properly aligned, and lock or secure it in place. Close the compartment and run water through the dispenser for a few minutes to remove any air.
Check if the freezer is level and stable, as uneven surfaces can cause vibrations and noise. Ensure there is nothing obstructing the internal components, such as food packages or ice buildup. Sometimes, the compressor or other mechanical parts might produce normal operating sounds, but if the noise is excessive or unusual, it is recommended to contact a technician for further inspection.

To troubleshoot the issue with the ice maker not making ice on your Electrolux EHE6899SA freezer, please follow these steps: 1. Check if the ice maker is turned on. Press the On/Off feature on the control panel to toggle the ice maker on and off. The display should indicate that the ice maker is turned on. 2. Ensure that the water supply is connected and turned on. Check for any kinks or blockages in the water line. 3. Verify that the water filter is not blocked or out of date. If the filter is clogged, it may restrict water flow to the ice maker. Replace the water filter if necessary. 4. Check the water supply flow rate. If the flow rate is low, it may affect the ice production. Ensure that the water supply is adequate. 5. If the freezer compartment is too warm, wait for 24 hours to allow the freezer to reach the ideal temperature. The ice maker requires a sufficiently cold environment to produce ice. 6. Reset the ice maker unit by turning off the appliance at the mains for 2 minutes and then turning it back on. This can help resolve any temporary issues with the ice maker. 7. Make sure there are no obstructions under the ice maker and ensure that the ice bin is fitted correctly.
