how do I get the pictures from my camera onto my computer

First, remove the memory card from the camera. On the SD1000, the memory card is stored in the same compartment as the battery. Open this compartment, then slightly push in the exposed edge of the memory card and then release it. The card will pop out. Now insert the memory card into your computer. The SD1000 uses an "SD" memory card, which is very common for digital cameras. Many laptops have SD card readers built into them. If your computer doesn't have an SD card reader, your can purchase one cheaply online or at Target or Best Buy. After inserting the camera's SD memory card into the reader on your computer, open a file browser (like Windows Explorer for Windows computers) and navigate to the SD card. Your photos will typically be stored in a folder named "DCIM".
