Hi Thom, if you installed all your drivers for your printer, it should have installed the necessary utilities for you to use your printer like your scanner and your printer. Depending on your operating system, you should see a program for you to run and use the scanner. I use Linux and the driver comes with a scanner utility that I can run to use my scanner. It scans documents and lets me save it as PDF or any IMAGE format right to my hardrive. So, look for it in your operating system. This is assuming you have SUCCESSFULLY installed your correct printer driver.

Some lines of print come out out of alignment and unreadable.
This looks like the indentation is in your document. Check it carefully for hidden spaces or tabs. Try printing a text file; type some random sentences in your notepad or Text Editor and print it straight to your printer and see if you see this missalignment or unreadable print out. If you are still having the same issue, then go into your printer settings from the control panel if its Windows operating system or setting and printers in your Linux operating system.
My printer has option of both black and color ink cartridges. I could only find the black cartridge and installed it and left the color ink cartridge section empty. The lights are all on and I am not able to switch to print plain paper from photo paper. Help!

First, when you send a print job, does your printer feed your paper in to print your document? If it doesn't, then your printer is having problem pulling in the paper to start printing. If so, when you insert your stack of paper into the printer, make sure to push it in all the way until the paper can longer be pushed. Even if you have to, kind of smash your papers in. So, your printer can easily pull the paper. My printer which is exactly the same model as yours did the same thing like yours. For some reason, it had trouble pulling the paper in and started flashing the orange light. As it was spinning its wheel to suck the paper in, I pushed the papers as far as it can go and then some. Viola!!! it pulled the paper in and started to print. From then on, it kept printing every time I printed. I have a feeling it was having this problem because I didn't use it for months. So, maybe dusts and spider cob webs (lol) inside the printer was interfering with the electronics. Hope this helps someone... :)
My alarm light on my 3620 printer is flashing twice, I want to align my printer head but my ink cartridge carriage is stuck in the far left position and I can’t get it to move. Even if I unplug it, when it starts up the carriage goes back and forth and end up stuck left. Help!
