Question and answer
Number of questions: 2My Canon LiDE 120 scanner has always worked well on my 2010 and 2012 MacBookPro laptops running macOS 12.x.x and 13.x.x (supposedly the newest macOS this legacy hardware can run). I've always run with the macOS System Preferences/Security & Privacy Firewall ON. How does this Canon scanner communicate with my laptops through the Firewall? I note that with a new Epson "all in one" printer & scanner I must turn the laptop Firewall OFF and UN check the "Block all incoming connections" option. The added image is the macOS Firewall configuration required for the Epson's scanner to work. I assume the EEventManager.app in the image is the Epson scanner's communication app. Ah, another digital world mystery ?!
