You top it up and it *i*negligently-*DOS*es the right amount of detergent and softener. The empty hole there is for manual dosage if you do not wish to use the i-DOS system.

Two things. First, you have the "Finished in" setting which means your washer wont start the program until twenty-two hours after you started it. Second, you have child lock on. Deactivate that, turn off the washer, wait a couple of seconds and try again.

It's usually a water drainage fault, caused by an object blocking the water pump. Open the service flap, carefully take out the hose next to the pump (the pump is the circular thing) and drain out excess water. Then, open the pump. It's done by turning the cap anticlockwise and make sure to collect the water draining from there as well.
