To save energy when using the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood, follow these steps: 1. Ensure sufficient air supply: During cooking, make sure there is enough air circulation in the kitchen to allow the exhaust hood to work efficiently and with minimal noise. 2. Adjust fan speed: Set the fan speed according to the amount of steam produced during cooking. Use a lower fan speed whenever possible, as it consumes less energy. Only use the intensive mode when necessary. 3. Time the fan speed: If you anticipate producing a large amount of steam, increase the fan speed in advance. If the steam has already spread throughout the kitchen, you may need to operate the exhaust hood for a longer duration. 4. Turn off when not needed: Switch off the exhaust hood and the lighting when they are no longer required. This helps to conserve energy. 5. Maintain and clean filters: Regularly clean and, if necessary, replace the filters to enhance the effectiveness of the ventilation system and prevent the risk of fire. By following these steps, you can optimize the energy efficiency of the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood while ensuring effective ventilation in your kitchen.
The Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood has two different operating modes: exhaust air mode and circulating-air mode. In exhaust air mode: - Before conveying the exhaust air into a non-functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue, you should obtain the consent of the responsible heating engineer. - If the exhaust air is conveyed through the outer wall, it is recommended to use a telescopic wall box. - The exhaust air must not be conveyed into a functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue or into a shaft used to ventilate installation rooms with heat-producing appliances. In circulating-air mode: - To bind odors in circulating-air mode, you need to install an activated carbon filter. The options for operating the appliance in circulating-air mode can be found in the brochure or by asking your dealer. - The air drawn in is cleaned by the grease filters and conveyed back into the kitchen after passing through the activated carbon filter. It is important to note that the specific instructions for operating the exhaust hood in each mode may vary. Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions and guidelines specific to the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood.
When using the exhaust air mode of the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood, there are several important points to be aware of: 1. Risk of poisoning: The exhaust air must not be conveyed into a functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue or into a shaft used to ventilate rooms with heating appliances. If you want to convey the exhaust air into a non-functioning smoke or exhaust gas flue, you must obtain the consent of the responsible heating engineer. 2. Use of telescopic wall box: If the exhaust air is conveyed through the outer wall, it is recommended to use a telescopic wall box. 3. Optimum performance: The exhaust hood achieves its best performance with a short, straight exhaust air pipe and a large pipe diameter. Long rough exhaust air pipes, many pipe bends, or smaller pipe diameters can reduce extraction performance and increase fan noise. 4. Non-combustible material: The pipes or hoses used for the exhaust air line must be made of non-combustible material. 5. Proper installation: Ensure that the wall is level, vertical, and adequately load-bearing when installing the exhaust hood. Use suitable screws and wall plugs for different wall structures. The maximum weight of the extractor hood is 40 kg. It is important to follow these guidelines to ensure safe and effective operation of the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood in exhaust air mode.
When installing the exhaust air pipe of the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood, follow these guidelines: 1. Pipe diameter: For round pipes, it is recommended to use an inner diameter of 150 mm, but at least 120 mm. The inner cross-section of flat ducts should correspond to the diameter of the round pipes. 2. Material: The pipes or hoses used for the exhaust air line must be made of non-combustible material. 3. Pipe layout: Use a short, straight exhaust air pipe with as few bends as possible to achieve optimum extraction performance and minimize fan noise. Avoid sharp deflections in flat ducts. 4. Sealing: Ensure proper sealing of the joints between the exhaust air pipe and connectors to prevent air leakage. 5. Wall installation: The wall must be level, vertical, and adequately load-bearing. Use suitable screws and wall plugs for different wall structures. The maximum weight of the extractor hood is 40 kg. 6. Electrical connection: Follow the electrical connection guidelines provided in the manual. The required connection data can be found on the rating plate inside the appliance. The length of the cable is approximately 1.30 m. It is recommended to have the electrical installation done by a professional electrician. By following these guidelines, you can properly install the exhaust air pipe for the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
When connecting the Bosch DWB98JQ50 exhaust hood to the electrical supply, please consider the following guidelines: 1. Safety precautions: Be cautious of sharp edges inside the appliance that may damage the connecting cable. Avoid kinking or pinching the cable during installation. 2. Connection data: Locate the rating plate inside the appliance to find the required connection data. To access the rating plate, remove the metal mesh grease filter. 3. Length of cable: The length of the cable provided is approximately 1.30 meters. 4. Electrical supply: The appliance must be connected to a properly installed protective contact socket. Ensure that the mains plug of the power cable is easily accessible after installation. If accessibility is not possible, integrate an all-pole isolating switch into the permanent electrical installation according to the conditions of overvoltage category III and installation regulations. 5. Professional installation: The permanent electrical installation should only be wired by a professional electrician. It is recommended to install a residual-current circuit breaker (RCCB) in the appliance's power supply circuit. Question and answer
Number of questions: 1I am trying to switch back to extraction mode on my DWB98JQ50/03 model hood. A warning sound beeped and I pushed symbols on the control panel to turn off the sound and I must have inadvertently switched extraction modes (not sure). Now the extractor doesn’t work. Everything else does (including red lines above different extraction levels, light, sounds, etc.) On page 8 of the manual it says in the last bullet point “Repeatedly touching and holding the power boost symbol and touching the 1 symbol switches the electronic controller back to extraction mode.” My hood is connected directly to the exterior via a chimney so I understand I must be in extraction mode. I do not see how to know what mode the extractor is currently set on. I do not know how to “repeatedly touch” and at the same time “hold” as those seem to be opposite actions. My control panel does not coincide exactly with the pictures in the manual or with the instructions. See attached picture. The hood was purchased in Fall 2019. I would appreciate a clearer explanation as how to switch back to extraction mode….we have tried many things (and the electronic controller may now be completely confused, as am I!!). The extractor is in the province of Barcelona (Spain)
