To switch between the different operating modes of the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood, follow these steps: 1. Exhaust-air mode: In this mode, the extractor-hood fan extracts kitchen vapors and conveys them through the grease filter into the atmosphere. To switch to the exhaust-air mode, simply press the + button until a symbol (ç) appears in the display. The fan will automatically switch back to the previous setting after 10 minutes unless manually canceled. 2. Circulating-air mode: In this mode, an activated carbon filter must be fitted. The extractor-hood fan extracts kitchen vapors, which are purified in the grease filter and activated carbon filter, and then conveyed back into the kitchen. To switch to the circulating-air mode, ensure that the activated carbon filter is installed and functioning properly. 3. Intensive setting: The intensive setting provides maximum power and is only required for short intervals. To activate the intensive setting, keep pressing the + button until the symbol (ç) appears in the display. The fan will automatically switch back to the previous setting after 10 minutes unless manually canceled. 4. Lighting control: The light can be switched on and off by briefly pressing the button. Adjust the brightness by holding down the button until the desired brightness is obtained. To switch on the light automatically, such as via a timer, both the fan and light must be switched off. Simultaneously press the - and ! buttons, and after approximately 3 seconds, the light will switch on to acknowledge the setting. Repeat the process to switch off the light. Remember to refer to the specific instructions in the manual for detailed information and safety precautions.
If the lighting or fan is not working on your Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the exhaust hood is properly connected to the power source. Check if the mains plug is securely inserted or if the electricity supply at the fuse box is switched on. 2. Verify the settings: Make sure that the lighting and fan functions are not accidentally turned off. Press the button for the light to switch it on or off. For the fan, press the + button to increase the fan speed or the - button to decrease it. If the fan is completely off, press the 0 button to switch it on. 3. Replace the light bulbs: If the lighting is not working, the halogen bulbs may need to be replaced. Switch off the exhaust hood and disconnect it from the power supply. Remove the bulb ring using a screwdriver and replace the halogen light bulb with a new one of the correct specifications (conventional halogen bulb, 12 Volt, max. 20 Watt, G4 cap). Re-insert the bulb ring and plug the appliance back into the power source. If the issue persists after following these steps, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician or refer to the manual for further assistance.
To clean the filter grille and chimney panelling of the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood, follow these steps: 1. Disconnect the exhaust hood from the power supply by pulling out the mains plug or switching it off at the fuse box. 2. Clean the grease filters: The metal grease filters are used to trap the greasy elements of the vapors during cooking. They should be cleaned at appropriate intervals to reduce the risk of fire and maintain the efficiency of the extractor hood. The filters can be cleaned in a dishwasher or by hand. If cleaning by hand, soak them in hot soapy water, brush them clean, rinse thoroughly, and allow the water to drain off. 3. Clean the canopy of the extractor hood: Use a hot detergent solution or a mild window cleaner to clean the canopy. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or sponges that could cause scratches. Avoid using alcohol on plastic parts, as it may affect the surface appearance. 4. Clean the operating buttons: Use a mild soapy solution and a soft, damp cloth to clean the operating buttons. Do not use stainless-steel cleaner for this purpose. 5. Clean stainless steel surfaces: Use a mild non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and clean the surface in the same direction as it has been ground and polished. Avoid using abrasive sponges or cleaning agents containing sand, soda, acid, or chloride. 6. Clean aluminum, painted, and plastic surfaces: Use a soft, non-linting window cloth or microfiber cloth with a mild window cleaning agent. Do not use dry cloths or aggressive, acidic, or caustic cleaners. Avoid using abrasive agents. After cleaning, reinsert the clean grease filters, cancel any indicators in the display, and plug the appliance back into the power supply. Please note that these instructions are a general guide. For detailed information and safety precautions, refer to the manual specific to the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood.
There could be several reasons why the exhaust hood is not functioning properly in the exhaust-air mode. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps: 1. Insufficient fresh air supply: When operating the exhaust hood in exhaust-air mode simultaneously with other burners that use the same chimney, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of fresh air for combustion. Check if there are non-lockable openings, such as doors or windows, that allow sufficient air intake. If the air intake is inadequate, it can lead to underpressure and the exhaust hood may not function properly. Consider installing an air-intake/exhaust-air wall box or other technical measures to improve air circulation. 2. Blocked or dirty filters: The grease filter and activated carbon filter play a crucial role in the exhaust-air mode. Check if the filters are clean and free from blockages. Clean or replace the filters according to the instructions in the manual. 3. Incorrect installation: Ensure that the exhaust hood is properly installed and connected to the ventilation shaft or outside wall. Improper installation can affect the performance of the exhaust hood in the exhaust-air mode. 4. Technical malfunction: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, there may be a technical malfunction with the exhaust hood. In such cases, it is recommended to contact a qualified technician or the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. Please note that these troubleshooting steps are general guidelines. For detailed information and specific instructions, refer to the manual of the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood.
When installing the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood in the exhaust-air mode, it is important to consider the following regulations and guidelines: 1. Discharge of exhaust air: The exhaust air should be discharged upwards through a ventilation shaft or directly through the outside wall into the open. It should not be directed into a smoke or exhaust flue that is currently used for other purposes, or into a shaft used for ventilating rooms with stoves or fireplaces. 2. Compliance with regulations: The exhaust air should be discharged in accordance with official and statutory regulations, such as national building regulations. Local authority regulations must also be observed when discharging air into smoke or exhaust flues that are not otherwise in use. 3. Fresh air supply: When operating the exhaust hood in exhaust-air mode simultaneously with a different burner that uses the same chimney, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of fresh air for combustion. The underpressure in the room where the burner is installed should not exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). This can be achieved by allowing combustion air to flow through non-lockable openings, such as doors and windows, or by using an air-intake/exhaust-air wall box or other technical measures. 4. Telescopic wall box: If the exhaust air is going to be discharged into the open, it is recommended to fit a telescopic wall box into the outside wall. Please note that these considerations and regulations are important for the proper installation and safe operation of the Bosch DKE995E exhaust hood in the exhaust-air mode.

Number of questions: 2After use, the display shows 3 horizontal bars (not # as in the user manual, but I think the display would not be capable of showing # anyway), and the unit beeps. I assume from the manual that this is the warning that the grease filter needs cleaning. I have now cleaned it twice, once manually and once in the dishwasher, and I have pressed the 0 button but the problem persists. Any ideas?
