Bosch dryers are provided with an Use and Care
Manual with Installation Instructions. Read and
understand all instructions before using the dryer.
Do not dry articles that have been previously cleaned,
washed, soaked, or spotted with gasoline, dry cleaning
solvents, other flammable or explosive substances as
they give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
Before the appliance is removed from service or
discarded, remove the door (to the drying
compartment) to prevent children from playing or
hiding inside. Also remove the power cord/plug.
Do not allow anyone to climb, lean or hang on any part
of the dryer including any protruding components such
as the appliance door or a pullout shelf.
Do not reach into the appliance if the drum is moving.
Do not tamper with the controls.
Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance or

I received the washer supposedly brand new but there are clear water marks. The place I received it from claims this is common as they test these washers before shipping them. Is this true?

Yes, it is true that water marks may be present on a supposedly brand new dryer like the Bosch 500 Series WTG86401UC. This is because the dryers are tested before shipping to ensure their functionality and performance. The presence of water marks does not indicate that the dryer is used or defective.

Why is my dryer not turning on?

First, check if the dryer is properly plugged into a power outlet. If it is, make sure the circuit breaker connected to the dryer is not tripped. Additionally, ensure that the dryer's door is securely closed, as it has a safety feature that prevents it from starting if the door is open.

Why is my dryer taking longer than usual to dry clothes?

There could be a few reasons for this. Ensure that the lint filter is clean, as a clogged filter can restrict airflow and prolong drying time. Also, check that the dryer vent is not blocked or obstructed, as this can affect the drying efficiency. If the issue persists, you may need to adjust the drying cycle settings to a higher heat level or check if the load size is appropriate for the selected program.

Why is my dryer making loud noises during operation?

If you hear unusual noises like knocking, thumping, or squeaking, it could indicate a problem. Check if any objects, such as buttons or coins, are trapped in the drum or the lint filter. These can cause noise during operation. Additionally, examine the dryer's leveling to ensure it is stable on the ground, as an unbalanced dryer can also lead to noise issues.

Why is my dryer not heating up?

If the dryer drum rotates but there is no heat, check that the dryer's power supply is not interrupted. Make sure the circuit breaker is not tripped and that the dryer is plugged in correctly. Another common cause of no heat is a blown thermal fuse, which is a safety feature that shuts off the heating element if it overheats. In this case, you may need to replace the thermal fuse or consult a technician.

How can I clean the dryer exhaust duct?

Cleaning the dryer exhaust duct is essential to maintain proper airflow and prevent fire hazards. To clean it, disconnect the dryer from the power source and detach the duct from both the dryer and the wall. Use a specialized brush or a vacuum cleaner with a long, flexible hose to remove lint and debris from the duct. Be thorough in cleaning both ends and ensure there are no blockages.
