Can't find the answer to your question in the manual? You may find the answer to your question in the FAQs about the Beurer BM 16 below.
Systolic pressure is the top number that the blood pressure monitor will indicate. Systolic pressure refers to the amount of pressure in your arteries during the contraction of your heart muscle.
Diastolic pressure is the lowest number that the blood pressure monitor will indicate. The bottom number refers to your blood pressure when your heart muscle is between beats.
A normal blood pressure is about 120/80.
Place the cuff on the upper arm, approximately 2-3 centimeters above the elbow crease, ensuring a snug fit but not too tight. It should be aligned with the heart and placed at the same level as your heart.
Hold the sphygmomanometer with your hand, grasping the device firmly but without applying excessive pressure. Keep your arm steady and relaxed during the measurement.
Make sure the cuff is completely deflated before starting. Position it correctly on your arm and close the cuff tightly but comfortably. Avoid any clothing or obstructions that may interfere with the seal. This will help to ensure accurate readings.
The device will show two values - systolic pressure (the higher number) and diastolic pressure (the lower number). Systolic represents the pressure of the arteries when the heart contracts, and diastolic represents the pressure when the heart is at rest. Consult with your healthcare provider for the ideal range of blood pressure values for you.
Open the valve slowly to release the air gradually. This allows for accurate measurement of your blood pressure. Do not release air forcefully or rapidly, as it may lead to inaccurate readings.

Question and answer
Number of questions: 3In case you own a Beurer BM 16 blood pressure monitor - for some time now, the meter is pumping up and pressing hard against the upper arm. It hurts. When the pressure can be read and I take off the cuff, it is partly filled with air. I disconnect the hose and release the air. The same thing happens with almost every measurement. What should I do? Thank you, Barbro Maassen
