Maintenance Care of the projector Y our pr ojector needs little maintenance. The onl y thing you nee d to do on a re gular
basis is to k eep the l ens and case clean.
Nev er remo ve an y parts of the projector except t he lamp. Cont act your dealer if
other parts need replacing.
Cleaning the lens Clean the lens whenev er you notice dirt or dust on the surface.
• Use a canister of c ompressed air t o remo ve dus t.
• If ther e is dirt or smears, use lens-cleaning paper or moi sten a soft cloth with lens
cleaner and gently w ipe the lens surface.
• Nev er use any type o f abrasive pad, alkaline/acid cleaner , scouring powder , or
volatil e solvent, s uch as alcohol, benzene, thinner or insecticide. Using such
materials or maintaining pr olonged contact with rubber or vin yl materials ma y
resu lt in damage to the pr ojector surface and cabinet material.
Ne ver rub the lens with abrasiv e materials.
Cleaning the projector case Befor e you clean the case, turn the projector off using the proper shutdo wn
pro cedure as described in "Shutting down the pr ojector" on page 44 and unplug the
pow er cord.
• T o r emov e dirt or dust, wipe the case with a soft, lint-free cloth.
• T o r emov e stubborn dirt or stains, moisten a soft cloth with wate r and a neutral
pH detergent. Then wipe the case.
Nev er use wax, alcohol, benzene, thinner or other chemical detergents.
These can damag e the case.
Storing the projector If you need to store the projector f or an extended time, please follo w the instructions
below:
• Mak e sure the temperature and humidity of the storage area are within the
reco mmended range for the pr ojector . Please refer to "Specificatio ns" on page 67
or consult your dealer about the range.
• Retract the adjuster f eet.
• Remov e the battery from the remote control.
• Pack the proj ector in its original packing or equivalent.
Transporting the projector It is r ecommended that y ou ship the pr ojector with its ori ginal packing or equivalent.
