5. 16:10 : Scales an image so that it is d ispla y ed in the center of the scr een with a
16:10 aspect ratio . This i s most suitable for images which ar e alr eady in a 16:10
aspect, lik e high def inition TV , as it displa ys them with out aspect alteration.
Optimizing the image Selecting a picture mode The pr ojector is pr eset with several predef ined
picture modes so that y ou can choose one to
suit yo ur operating envir onment and input
signal pictur e type.
T o select an operation mode that sui ts your
need, you c an follow one of the follo wing steps.
• Pre ss OK on the r emote control or
pr ojector repeatedl y until yo ur desired
mode is selected.
• Go to the PICTU RE > Picture Mode menu and press / to select a
desired mode.
The picture modes are listed below .
1. Bright mo de : Maximizes the brightn ess of the pr ojected image. This mode is
suitable for en vironments wher e extra-high brightness is r equired, such as using
the pr ojector in w ell lit rooms.
2. Presentation mode (Default): Is designed for presentations. The brightness
is emphasized in this mo de.
3. sRGB mode : Maximizes the purity of RGB colors to pr ovide true-to-lif e
images r egardless of brightness setting. It is most suitable f or viewing photos
tak e n with an sRGB compatible and pr operly calibrated camera, and for vie wing
PC graphic and drawing a pplications such as AutoCAD .
4. Cinema mode : Is appropriate f or playing colo rful movies, video clips from
digital cameras or D Vs thr ough the PC input for best viewin g in a black ened
(little light) en vironment.
5. User 1/User 2 mode : Recalls the settings customized based on the current
a vailable picture modes. See "Setting the User 1/User 2 mode" on page 36 for
details.
Setting the User 1/User 2 mode There are tw o user -defina ble modes if the cur rent a vailable pictur e modes are not
suitable for y our need. Y ou can use one of the picture mo des (except the User 1 /
User 2) as a starting point and cus tomize the settings.
1. Press MENU to open the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) me nu.
2. Go to the PICTURE > Picture M ode menu.
3. Press / to select User 1 to User 2.
4. Press to highlight Reference Mode .
This function is only a vailable when User 1 or User 2 mode is selected up in
the Picture Mode sub-menu item.
