Securing the projector Using a security cable lock The pr ojector has to be installed in a saf e place to prev ent theft. Otherwise, pur chase
a lock, such as the K ensington lock, to secure the pr ojector . Y ou can locate a
K ensington lock slot on the r ear side of the pr ojector . See item 17 on page 10 for
details.
A K ensington security cable lock is usuall y a combination of k ey(s) and the lock. Re fer
to the lock's documentation for finding out how to use it.
Utilizing the password function For security purposes and to help pre vent unauthorized use, the pro jector includes an
option for setting up pass wor d security . The passwo rd can be set thr ough the On-
Scree n Displa y (OSD) me nu.
W ARNING: Y ou will be incon venienced if y ou activate the pow er -on lock
functionality and subsequently forget the passw ord. Print out this manual
(if necessar y) and write the passwor d you used in this manual, and keep
the manual in a safe place for later recall.
Setting a password Once a passwor d has been set, the projector cannot be used unless the
corr ect passwo rd is enter ed ev er y time the pr ojector is started.
1. Open the OSD menu and go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Security
Settings > Change Security menu. Press OK.
2. Enter a new or cur rent passw ord. As pictur ed
to the right, the f our arro w ke ys ( , , ,
) resp ectively r epresent 4 digits (1, 2 , 3, 4).
According to th e passwor d you desir e to set,
press the arr ow k eys to enter six digits for
the passw ord.
3. Confirm the ne w passwo rd by r e-entering the
new pass word.
Once the passwor d is set, the OSD menu
returns to the Security Sett ings page wit h 'Off' shown in the row of Power on
lock.
IMPOR T ANT: The digits being input will displa y as asterisks on-screen .
Write your selected passw ord do wn here in this manual in advance or
right after the passw ord is enter ed so that it is a vailable to y ou should you
e ver forg et it.
